Railway Hotel Castlemaine

A superb pub in Castlemaine. Best craft beer selection in town. Food is very good, and the atmosphere is great especially when they crank up the fire. Feels great having dinner here.

We went twice. The first time was great, good food friendly service. The second time I don't know what happened but it took 50 minutes to get our meal and the staff mood was really stressed. Maybe just understaffed as a once off. 3 stars is an average of the two nights.

had dined her many years ago with a large group was great recently brought a group of 14 people form Melbourne for dinner on Saturday night booked for 7:30 didn't get seated till 7:45 after chasing up the waitress after being asked to wait in the bar first meals did not come out until after 8:30 pm out of all the meals the curry special was the best of the pick of a broad range of ordered - don't think i will book here again

Wonderful food and great service! I love going here. I went in the evening and the presentation of the place was great! The staff were very friendly, helpful and happy to offer suggestions. Even with other customers around it felt really cozy and comfortable.

Food very good, atmosphere great. Good selection of beers. Service staff know what's up. They split bills.
