A lovely place to browse. Lots to do too. Such as borrow a jigsaw or if you're little. Come in on a Saturday and play with Lego.
A jarring experience registering for a birth. It is highly inappropriate for the registrar to offer their opinion about the name chosen for a child. Was it expected that one would change it on the spot because they happen to think there may be confusion for people, like them, with rigid gender normative views of the world? It’s an administration role for the arm of bureaucracy that prejudices married couples over the unmarried and it is this myopia that is reflected in the antiquated conservatism of the individuals hired for the role: the sense of self-importance was added by the individual serving. At the end I was given a lovely gift of books for my child from the Book Trust - a big thank you to them - although the registrar used this opportunity to counsel me on the importance of reading to my child. A disappointing experience for something that should be special.
The staff are incredibly kind, helpful and understanding. I love going to my local library to see what new books that have just come in and picking up the books I have orders off the app. Lots of love for the library!!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Much better and consistent opening times. 09.00am opening and all days open until at least 5pm except Sunday closed.
Very nice place, me and my 10 years old son often go there during weekend to read and study. Unfortunately it became a playground. Kids run around, PLAY HIDE AND SEEK James Bond style , loud and disrespectful .I kindly asked one of the library personal to do something and she said :" well we incourage children to come to the library and we do not operate the old fashion way anymore so children can play around without problem !"....well I thought libraries for reading for kids and adults and not to function as playgrounds but according to the library personal I am old fashioned!!
An excellent facility for the town, a spacious, modern interior in a period building. Good facilities, well laid out, excellent children's section. Author appearances held from time to time. A very pleasant place to browse its large stock of books, have a cup of coffee, read the papers, or use the IT equipment.
It's a nice modern library nowadays, colourful and well laid out. All the facilities you need. Centrally located on the high street and next to bus stops and car parks. Quite strict with Covid rules so Covid safe.
Lovely space to read and have meetings. Would highly recommend
Nice, quiet library. Friendly staff and very helpful. I use it primarily for the computers.
A good library.the staff are coping well, with the covid situation, they deserve a round of applause,
