The ACT Law Society's Young Lawyers Committee is dedicated to furthering the interests of ACT Young Lawyers. "Young lawyers" are those who are admitted as legal practitioners, who practise in the ACT, and who are in their first five years of practice. Age does not determine whether you are a Young Lawyer.

Mission

The Young Lawyers Committee seeks to further the interests of young lawyers by helping them establish themselves within the legal profession, by providing opportunities for them to develop their professional skills, and by providing networking opportunities to enable young lawyers to make new contacts.

One of the lawyers I was talking over the phone, didn't even listen to me..and hung up the phone.

Simply wastage of time. 
The lawyer allocated to me was not properly listening to me and was frequently attending phone calls on his mobile (at least 2 calls were attended during our 8-10 minutes conversation). 
He showed unawareness of the process for which the advice was being sought for. He didn't ask even a single question to understand the problem and never asked for seeing any relevant documentation. Our 15 minutes appointment just finished within less than 10 minutes with no proper outcome.

ACT Law Society is the microcosm of the Australian society: a bunch people who are mean, adversarial, vindictive, intolerant of any criticism or difference in opinion, biased and self serving, amongst other things.  What is their purpose really? To look after and protect a bunch of other money grabbing, contrived and incompetent lawyers. No wonder the so called profession of law is considered one of the least trusted one, next to estate agents, second hand car dealers and sex workers are lawyer, one of the most disgusting bunch of people I have seen, and this Society to protect them, and yet, they are so puffed up about themselves...full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Not sure the purpose of the function / existence of this organisation!  You would expect they regulate the actions of their PROFESSIONAL Practitioners, who are allowed to take the matters important to ordinary people like us in their hand.  They all are just there to justify the actions of their fellow blood suckers.  just a waste of our money, stay away from the LAW and Law Society or anyone who claims to qualify to advise you to waste your hard earned money in law firms.

Scam - they assist ALP to blind GP's that look at computers with incomplete history and never ask for a t-shirt to be removed.. Yep the surgery was all a delusion and broken equipment is always broken according to abused kate with family and social network looking up records afterhours (na just kidding about the ah dirt file sifting) - note to self - dr tells me to see MH after I talked about my lung surgery (before surgery they would ask me to remove my T-shirt so they could use a stethoscope when listening to my lungs or heart).  Those harmed by surgery are defrauded by those with nice homes that 'care' for those whom are then defrauded of their rights by ticking a box numbered 8 on the mh application (you dont even need to of ever known the person that the application is targeted to defraud - all you need to do is hope they go off and the incomplete history can pay you money when you pretend later on to discover it)
