Thoroughly enjoyed the melt in mouth salmon which was accompanied by a refreshing tangy salad. The oat cappuccino that I had tasted decent, though I thought their sister brand Higher Ground did a slightly better job. The ricotta hotcake came beautifully decorated with fruits and seeds and was quite large and thick. The hotcake itself is not sweet which helps balance off with the syrup that’s poured over it. Kettle Black a lovely place to hang out if you managed to snag a good seat. My only issue is that they seem to discriminate single diners and assign them to stools instead of proper seats even though a booking had been made and I was not just having coffee but a full meal.
Nice little place with various dishes to choose from. I had a seasonal avocado, with smoked Salmon The food was simple and delightful. The coffee and the hot chocolate is good, the staff is warm and welcoming. This place gets really busy, saw people waiting outside for the breakfast So please book the table before visiting.
Very busy restaurant at breakfast time on the weekend. We were quoted up to an hour wait time, but were lucky enough to be seated well before the hour was up. We were able to order a take away coffee and sit out the front while we waited for our table. The food was yummy and quick to come out.
Best brunch experience in a while at The Kettle Black. This place offers booking so you can enjoy brunch without the usual lining up and wait. We ordered large coffees and the price is great compared to other places. The dishes we choose are Sicillian Chilli Scrambled Eggs and Brisket Benedict. They are both delicious with the Brisket being the winner of the two. The brisket melt in your mouth and the milk bread pair with it perfectly. Only suggestions is that the mushroom might be better served warm. They didn’t have weekend surcharge, so you get better value for your money, highly recommended!
Great experience! Gets busy on weekends but we did still get placed on a table straight away. Good selection of food, can recommend the banana waffles if you’re looking for something sweet!
Heard many good things about kettle black and it’s very picture worthy interior Honestly wasn’t disappointed . Food was excellent and service was equally good . Had the poached egg/beef toast w mayonnaise, with a cup of magic. My friend decided to order a raspberry cupcake at the end of the meal which was surprisingly good!
Not the best breakfast. Portions of breads were too thick for the amount they put above it. I asked for feta cheese as an extra, instead of putting it on the toast, they placed it on a small dish. Not too generous with their portions. I guess you need to go there for coffee and already made pastries but not for anything else. Waiter was not too attentive and repeats everything that you say , giving the impression that he may need extra guidance in understanding the orders.
This is my first time to visit The Kettle Black. It is definitely an amazing experience for me!! The food taste great with pretty presentation and plating! The staff are really nice! I have a great time with my friend! We would definitely visit here again!
The table stakes for a Melbourne cafe, great coffee? Check. Other than that, the menu has refreshingly different takes on standard items, which surprise and delight. Physically, there is indoor seating in both the old building and a modern new side, as well as outdoors complete with blankets and heaters during colder times. Efficient, friendly service.
We had good time here. Staff was very friendly. Nice coffee. Food really fresh and yam. But, my toast wasn't toasted I don't know why serve like that ?? I just had anyway. We satisfied most of thing here. Will visit again
