Customer service, atmosphere and food were all excellent. Dined-in mid afternoon, so we were 2 of roughly 8 people in the restaurant at the time Ordered the hokkein noodles with my partner ordering a steak, both were amazing meals. Prices are above average restaurant range. Would definitely go back.
We ordered the bruschetta as a starter, which although was overpriced was very tasty. We thought as a result we were in for a good meal. Unfortunately not. I ordered the nasi gorgeng and my partner had the calamari risotto, unfortunately they were both bland. The waitress attempted to rectify the meal but there wasn't much to offer. They offered us a replacement meal but the wait on food was awhile so we said no They were professional and courteous and they didn't charge us for the food we had. We appreciated the good customer service and hope the menu improves.
My partner and I have been coming here for over a year now. It is our second home! The staff are friendly, professional and efficient. The food is first-class with generous servings. The coffee is my favourite in the Brisbane. Great atmosphere. A++
Certainly won't ever be eating at the Groove Train ever again. Overpriced for the quality of service, food and atmosphere. Last time I went both my friend and I had to send our meals back as they were both cold!!! And not very tasty to boot. Upon coming out the second time, the food still wasn't as hot as it should have been and again, lacking flavour and quality. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.....
A group of friends and I went here on a Sunday morning 8th of March for breakfast and it was not the most pleasant experience. Firstly, we asked when we sat down if we could split the bill and unfortunately we couldn't. I understand in some restaurants this isn't an option but her attitude when we asked the reason why was unnecessary! 2 of us ordered a breakfast burger and to say the least my 5 year old niece could make a burger look more appetising. The egg looked disgusting, the bacon was soggy, the rocket on the burger looked like it had been sitting out of the fridge in the sun for 3 days, the cheese wasn't melted which I asked for it to be taken off as I cannot eat cheese and the meal was brought out cold! Safe to say this doesn't leave a good impression on the other Groove Train brand as they look welcoming, with a nice atmosphere but myself and my friends will not be returning to any restaurants in the future.
Pros: the service was friendly and attentive, the place was pleasant to sit in, and the menu and drink selection is relatively wide. Cons: The prices are pretty steep - the fisherman's basket was $35 and tasted ok, but was definitely not value for money. The fish was disturbingly brown in colour - perhaps slightly overcooked, but a sign of very old oil/fat - and didn't have a fresh taste to it. The prawn and scallop skewers were skewered with disposable chopsticks, and also had a frozen vibe to them. It's the sign of a kitchen cutting corners. My wife's Asian beef salad was ok, the meat a little tough and chewy, the leaves wilted, and the flavours ok. Overall a disappointment.
Been a regular at the brisbane city groove train. Chermside I won't be going back. Ordered yo take away and they blamed the back ground noise for stuffing up our order. Got home to find that there were only 7 pieces of calamari and no cous cous in our salad. As compensation the manager tiffany offered garlic beard/pizza. We spent $150 and they got two dishes wrong and her compensation was $6 worth..they defiantly don't value their customers. If u don't belive me have a look at urban spoon they rate at 48% for the prices they are charging they should be rating higher. Needless to say kfc have better customer service than the manager at groove train chermside. Tight budget ! What's that saying. Your customers are always right bahahah clearly not. Shame the food is actually nice. Compliments to the chef pitty yr frontline staff doesn't do the same.
No flavor. Ordered the baked eggs which sounds really nice when reading it off the menu. Baked capsicum, spinach, tomato and feta cheese I should of know better those ingredients do not go together especially baked in a pot. Absolute no flavor at all unless you add alot of salt and pepper and even then your tasting soggy hot steamy capsicum. That alone leaves a taste experience you will not forget. For a franchise menu I would love to know who thought of that dish and actually implemented it and even better who actually orders it as a regular. Seems like this place needs a visit from Kitchen Nightmare bad.
My boyfriend and I walked into this restaurant hoping for some tasty food but what we did get wasn't even remotely close to edible. My meal tasted like vomit stuck in your throat from the night before, and my boyfriends meal tasted like a bucket of salt was poured into it. So needless to say, don't eat here.
Staff were lovely, got a salad and wine for $30, which I think is great for dinner. Food wasn't mind blowing but it wasn't too bad either. Considering price and service.
