Fresh fruit and veg, great coffee, snacks and some fantastic second hand clothes sneakers books et al. What else do you need
What you’d expect in the area of Fitzroy - lots of second hand, retro/Y2K clothing for sale, many selling for more than they would have paid back then. Also jewellery, books, food & some local designers. There are stalls inside & outside. Operating hours are 9am - 2pm. Free entrance.
Perhaps a little overstated on their website...see below...still worth a visit, these markets will continue to evolve until they hit the sweet spot. Located a modest 40min walk north of Melbourne CBD or a short tram ride #11, in an old disused Mill which is now a carpark when the Market is not open on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. The market, which has been open since Nov 2017, and set up by 3 siblings, is quite interesting and great of itself, but in essence I rate it ALSO 5 star because of the Wall Murals. Visiting these has become very popular around the world, and the ones at and around the Old Mills are not just the usual boring swirls of graffiti. These are quite a good attempt at real modern art. Some of it is commissioned, and may change on a regular basis. The below is sourced from Google and the Markets website "The Fitzroy Mills Market is a vibrant wellness event, on Rose Street in the heart of Fitzroy. Our market allows you to source the very best produce directly from local growers and makers. This weekly Saturday market is housed in the iconic Fitzroy Mills, on Rose Street. Located a few steps from the Rose Street Artist’s market, The Fitzroy Mills market brings together a large array of Melbourne’s finest producers covering the best in artisan food, drink and products."
Came here after visiting Rose St Artist Markets - this one contains more vintage knickknacks, clothing and books. Some little stalls also selling fresh pastries, cakes and bread as well as some farm fresh fruits and vegetables
Vintage clothes, books, coffee, snacks and some local products such as soap, bee wax paper etc. The layout is not optimized and it's a bit confusing to browse.
Worth a visit! Selection of food, clothes, books, etc.
Plenty of food and preloved items on sale every Saturday plus all the friendly stall holders on hand to help.
Really great market, good variety of local made products, vintage clothing, live music, organic food and good coffee even if coffee could be a bit cheaper, dear Industry Beans!. I have helped out a friend of mine that had a stall and I had the chance to see people coming through. They are a really good crowd, sensitive towards the environment and supporting local makers. It is still a 'young' market even if they are the same people from Fitzroy Market and I see good potential to raise even more the quality of the products in the future.
Second hand an end of line clothing, food and vegetables. In the same street as the Rose Street artist market
I love this place. It’s small read: niche but has a lovely selection of local and homemade goodies. The stalls are not identical each week but there are several “permanent” stalls. The fresh produce is tasty and inexpensive. There’s always some other goodies to try. Parking at top and easily accessible by public transport along Brunswick Street. There’s a good café across the road that’s always busy and a couple of other good places heading west along Rose St if you want a bit there - although there are tables and a couple of food truck type stalls at the market itself. You also have the plethora of eating houses along Brunswick Street anyway. Whilst you’re there, check out Rose St pantry and the artists market. Both are always fabulous. You could spend a while morning along this stretch of Rose Street with the Fitzroy Mills Market. Ring the highlight.
