How do you get from the best schnitzel in Canberra to the worst in such a short period of time? :( We used to come to District all the time - the meals were fantastic, the portions were considerable and the chips/chicken were the best. Over only a few months the portions were actually less than halved, amounting to about 40% of what was initially served (at the same initial cost). The last few times we came, the chips were soggy and inedible, and the chicken was under-cooked and soggy/ the crumb separating completely from the meat. It is a real disappointment as we used to go to District every week and it was our favourite restaurant, now we cannot recommend it to anyone.

On entry you find a seat check out the menu then order your meals and drinks from the bar returning to your table with a table number. Nice food a little overpriced but you certainly get what you order. Nice coffee and cakes. Choice of dinning inside or out sheltered around the front and one side. Not the fast service so you can be waiting a little if it's busy.

My wife and I shared the ‘Surf and Turf’ along with a ‘Trio of Dips’ for dinner and absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, it came out quite fast and the service was friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!
