My podiatrist suggested that I get a specific brand of runner from Athletes Foot to treat pain I've had in my feet for more than 15 years. While I was not a fan of the style of runners, I made the purchase. Unfortunately, the runner did not solve the problem. When I called to ask if I could return the runner, the operator told me that I could be re-fitted. The service I received from Tyler B during the refitting was professional, informative as well as empathic. Tyler explained to me that I was wearing the wrong size shoe and suggested an insert I could use in other shoes to relieve the pain. It has been almost a week since the purchase and the pain has been reduced significantly with the runner and the insert. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TYLER'S SERVICE. The Athletes Foot are lucky to have such a lovely caring, empathic and patient staff member on their team. FABULOUS SERVICE :
I purchased new balance runners last week and requested the cheaper option as this is what I can afford right now. I made sure I said this when she asked me which one I wanted to try on. The lady proceeded to bring me a few size options. When I chose my size I went to pay only to find out as I was scanning my card she had sold me the expensive option. I gave feedback online later the next day and requested a call back. No one ever rang me or left a message. This is very cruel behavior. Don’t shop here. Shop at rebel around the corner- it’s cheaper for the same product and their many staff members arnt as desperate for money as to cheat their customers.
Great shopping experiance. Chase helped us with finding the right shoe. It was busy and the way all the staff was handling the customers was exemplary. We had to buy the shoe online as they did not have stock and chase could have easily sold us another brand but being a professional he said “ our bad luck we don’t have stock but more important for us is to fit the right shoe “ I will be sending all the people I know to them now
Staffs are amazing.. Lauren was an extraordinary help and Racheal helped with her pro-tips too to aid in recovery of broken ankle and suggest correct type of shoes. Amazing service. Good job guys!!
I've taken my time writing this review as I want to be as thorough as possible about the appalling service I received in the Werribee Plaza store. I was recommended to go to either The Running Company in Yarraville or to The Athletes Foot by my podiatrist for a specific brand of shoe. I chose the Athletes Foot because it was closer to my home. From the moment I walked in I was treated as an inconvenience by Hayley. C who is the name who appears on my receipt as who I was fitted by young lady with dark hair. I mentioned my partner had loyalty with the shop and I would like to join. No, I was asked for his phone number, it was punched into the tablet device and my purchase was added to his loyalty! I was barked instructions to stand on the fit machine, told I would be given a shoe the assistant liked because she wore them, had them thrown at my feet with a sneer when I double checked the size with her she said I was 9.5 based on the fit machine, I was given a 9 'yea they're right' was the response. My mother who was with me was so appaled by the service she decided to not even bother going ahead with a fitting for herself, not to mention my 2 sons who need to be fitted for shoes who I would never bring back based on the service I received. I was argued with when I enquired if Zip pay was accepted. The staff were too busy running into the back room to be attentive to customers. I saw so many other people walk out after being fitted because they were treated the same way as me. The icing on the cake was having the eftpos unit snatched out of my hand when I tried to give my rating on the service I received today and the assistant rated herself the top score! I was in shock! I stood for a while and noticed this was common practice with every single customer = eftpos snatched and staff applied their own raring on the service they gave. Management is not getting an accurate indication of how appaling the service of your staff truly is. I spent $229. 99 on my shoes and only because I need this particular type of shoe but I will never return again. I wanted socks, no, just pay and take your shoes and leave so I can return to the back room was the attitude I was given. So not only were companion sales lost from me but 3 sales from my mum and my 2 children. Really appaling. Worst service I've had in a retail environment in a long time. Take your staff around the corner to the Sporting Globe for an observation exercise in how customer service should be. I spent one third of what I spent in your store and was treated one thousand times better. Worst customer service in a very long time. See attached receipt, my purchase was made April 20, 2022 12:17:05pm
Frank at Athletes Foot Werribee was very helpful and friendly. He did a scan of my feet and gait, and sat down to explain the different parts of my result. He gave 3 options to choose from, and brought out the sizes of each one for me to try. I felt like the overall experience was quite good, and also felt quite looked after by Frank. Keep up the good work!
Excellent shoes unfortunately Rachel was extremely rude. I questioned the validity of of an obvious up sell on inner soles when the shoe should speak for it self at that price. Rachel stormed over aggressively ranting and talking down to me about how runners are different than school shoes. Maybe she was right however I have every right as a customer to ask questions and seek answers.
I visited the store on Sunday 1st August 2021 to upgrade my runners and pretty much new what I wanted as I have worn this particular brand for years. I was approached by a young lady Lauren who was extremely helpful, very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. I ended up commenting on the runners she was wearing which was a different brand and she offered to let me try a pair on and I immediately fell in love with them. Unfortunately they didn't have the color I liked so she went to see if another store had them but no luck. Last resort was to write down the model of runner and said I could get them online with their store. Her patience with me was amazing as I was in the store for awhile and she was there every step of the way pardon the pun.. Thank you Lauren for your great customer service, you would be an absolute asset to the company. Cheers, Jen :-
Whilst I think Athlete's Foot is a great store/brand I would not recommend this branch. Poor experience with consultant lying to me about what styles a shoe was available in turns out they just had no stock in store and more recently waiting to check out was completely ignored by staff as they walked past me numerous times at the counter. Very unprofessional and rude will not be going back!
Very unhappy with the customer service or lack of any service, purchased a pair of ASICS which cost me $260, 8 months ago. I wear them to walk the dog only - I am not a runner and do not work out in them. I noticed a hole on the right shoe where the stitching had come apart at the toe. Returned them to store and was met by two women who were not very helpful or even friendly. I was told they had to be sent to Asics for analysis but the average life of the shoes is 6-12months so given I have had these 8 months that it was unlikely I would get offered an exchange. I was so shocked that trainers with that price tag do not even have the life span of a year to be used for walking! Today 16th August I got a call from Nicole to tell me my claim had been rejected and it's just down to 'wear and tear'. I asked how I can contest this and she just said no............ She was rude and unhelpful, she offered no solutions and quite frankly could not seem to care less. I understand we are in difficult times right now, and retail has been hit particularly hard but that should be no excuse for a lack of customer service, when you are going to need customers more than ever to assist with bouncing back. I am in absolute disbelief. I have had trainers cost me half the price last me years. I want to contest this, and would like to know the steps to do so. This is clearly a manufacturing fault. If the shoes cannot handle being used for casual dog walking then they are not fit for purpose. Having a quick google it appears I am not the only unhappy customer with this complaint which is highly unacceptable for what is meant to be a high profile reputable brand, you advertise these are shoes for running and if that are not even fit for purpose for dog walking then this is clearly misleading and deceptive to your customers. I would like to know how I can escalate this complaint further.
