Extremely disappointed with the adoption process we just went through. Despite arriving early and following instructions regarding engaging and playing with kittens to see if their personality was suited to my kids which we did for more than the suggested 20 minutes, we were disappointed to line up to adopt behind some who had spent less than 3 minutes engaging with the kittens and miss out on our preferences.nWhen I mentioned this to the staff member I was dismissed, and made it very clear it was first in, best dressed. They obviously have no interest in whether the kittens are going to a good home, or are a good match for adoption.
I am deeply disappointed by my recent experience at Ten Lives. Despite arriving an hour early before the opening hours, I was dismayed to find that my efforts were overlooked.nnUpon arrival, a staff member instructed me to line up and prioritize which kitten I wished to adopt. I patiently followed this instruction, eagerly anticipating the chance to adopt the kitten of my choice. However, just 15 minutes before the opening, another individual abruptly cut the line and swiftly adopted the very kitten I had set my heart on.nnThroughout this ordeal, I repeatedly informed the receptionist of my early arrival and intention to adopt the specific kitten. Despite my insistence, I was told that I needed to spend some time with the kitten first before proceeding with the adoption process. Meanwhile, I overheard the other individual inquiring about the kitten's availability from a volunteer, who confirmed that I had been the first to express interest.nnNevertheless, the other individual proceeded to complete all the adoption paperwork ahead of me, displaying a clear lack of fairness and transparency in the process.nnWhat exacerbates the situation is that despite the presence of staff and volunteers who could attest to my early arrival and rightful claim, both the manager and receptionist sided with the other individual.nnThis experience has been incredibly disheartening and has left me feeling unfairly treated. I feel compelled to caution others that the adoption process at Ten Lives may not guarantee the fulfillment of your preferences.nnI hope that by sharing my experience, others may be spared from similar disappointment in their pursuit of adopting a kitten or cat from Ten Lives.nTen lives need to advertise and adoption policy and they have to claim adoption right upon arrival.
Recently put a cat in for stay while on holidays overseas during the first few days were advised cat stressed we had to organise a friend to pick the cat up when we arrived back from holidays asked about a refund were told it's not our policy they would have used the same cage for someone else's cat double dipping not good enough ten lives very dissapointed
I love going here and spending time with all the gorgeous cats! The volunteers are lovely and clearly care about the cats so much. All my experiences here have been enjoyable and leave me wanting to go back the next day.nWould definitely recommend for anyone looking to adopt a cat
We had to rehome our 2 cats as we are moving. We surrendered them to Ten Lives Cat Centre. It was very sad for us but we had to do it. The staff are lovely, caring people and Ten Lives cat centre does an amazing job mostly volunteers. We are so grateful your help. Thankyou
