I have been to Ted's Cameras Doncaster several times. The experience I had this morning was the worst. I took my son there to take passport photos. The lady who took the photo was obviously very busy, with many people lying in rows, and we had our photos taken when it was our turn, and we were told to pick up photos later. After nearly one hour, we went back to the shop, another lady older one who stands in the front desk asked me, and I told her to come to pick up passport photos, and she was very rude, asking me what photos, I repeated "passport photos", and she kept asking the same question, and seemed to be very inpatient and in a very disrespectful way... Then the lady who took the photo saw us and served us. The old lady who treated us very rudely quickly escaped to serve the other customer very nicely with lots of smiles... I felt very disrespectfully treated and ridiculous. This is unacceptable particularly to customers with kids. My son was scared by this old lady afterwards. This is the worst service I had in Australia so far by living here more than 10 years. I understand the "low mood" post COVID in retails, but this cannot be an excuse to treat your customers rudely.
Ted's Cameras Doncaster has been very helpful multiple times to me. Lisa went out of her to help me figure out if there was dust on my lens or sensor and was very helpful. The access to a film lab is also quite awesome.
They have one of the worst customer services in Australia. Before I buy, they were nice. When I decided to return the item in less than 20 minutes, they refused. The guy who needs a training said why you didn’t decide before you buy!! You didn’t read the receipt!! Then I found out that they don’t return items even if it’s not opened! It’s unbelievable how a such a policy is allowed. They new that many people will probably return their items because they have very expensive product comparing to other stores. Therefore, they put a sign in a tiny and small font that returning is not allowed.
I purchased a Manfrotto tripod and am absolutely disappointed by the way it was packaged and sold. Little did I notice while purchasing that it had a tape on it and when opened. Parts were already broken. I had previously purchased a camera and lens in the same store and had a pickup issue. Never expected this from a reputed brand. The product should have been removed or put under clearance.
Ted's Cameras have completely misunderstood the point of click & collect. Instead of reserving a purchase at a particular store when you buy, the order goes to a central office for processing before the actual store gets notified. No problems though, because they'll process it quickly, right? Wrong, it takes up to two days. And that means the stock in the store can be sold out from under you. Instead of click & collect, just call the store and ask them to hold the item for you. You save two days, you guarantee the stock isn't sold, and you'd need to go to the store to pick it up anyway. Point in case: I ended up placing a click & collect order for the same product from JBHifi while waiting for a callback from Ted's Cameras. It was ready for collection in 20 minutes. I've still not received a callback from Ted's.
Hi, me , my wife and my son took photos for our passports a few day ago.The Photos are terrible, stuff so arrogant, unprofessional and rude. I had to take photos in office work again.
Some of the staff was nice, some not so welcoming. Tried to keep an open mind as I’m sure they might have had a off day, don’t think I’ll be going back unfortunately.
Couldn't of asked for a better experience. Staff were kind and patient and very knowledgeable when dealing with my beginner questions. Special shout out to Lisa who met me at the front door and guided me through options to suit my preferences. After deciding on which camera to get, she took me through how to put it together and even fitted the lens filter for me. Incredibly happy with my purchase and excited to get shooting.
I took in 2 reels of film into the store 3 weeks ago and was served by Lisa. Lisa helped me even though on that particular day the computer was having some issues and we both were not sure if the payment went through. Nevertheless she took down my details and it was decided that when I came to collect my negatives i'd re check that the payment went through. Naturally I was understanding that none of the IT issues that day were Lisa's fault. Fast forward 3 weeks later I receive what I believe to be my scanned photos through my email onto to receive someone else's film. I have emailed the store asking to be contacted as any normal person could understand the level of concern of your photos being sent to someone random. For a process that is so lengthy I find this really careless as photos are so personal. I have received someone else's photos this evening mixed in with half of my photos I expected and it's totally not fair on the people who's photos I have received either. It's a shame I even have to write a review but unfortunatley it calls for it. I'd really hope someone can get in contact with me in a timley manner to rectify the problem. Plus I really would hope that the reel of photos I have waited 3-4 weeks for is not lost or destoryed. Just as I'm sure whoever's photos I did receive is also waiting for their photos.
These guys have 0 knowledge of camera gear or even what they sell in the store, needed a lens filter they said they didn't sell them when they were clearly in the store.
