Received an Ice cream maker from aldi for christmas which broke during its third use. Manager didn’t catch her name but the taller bit larger blonde one would not refund without the physical receipt. It’s well within its warranty obviously and i read up on the faulty return policy online. the policy online says even a warranty card is acceptable as proof of purchase, which i have, and i have a photo of the receipt, and was refused any attempt at a refund without the physical receipt. I have worked many retail jobs in my life and never heard of needing the physical receipt for a refund of a FAULTY product, and according to australian consumer law this is not a requirement either. No concept of good customer service. Zero empathy from staff. I'm not an advocate of self-checkouts, but this store needs them. If for no other reason other than the benefit of not having to interact with their clueless staff.
This is by far the worst Aldi store I’ve ever visited. Like many other shoppers have mentioned, shelves are constantly understocked and popular items are often unavailable. On top of that, it’s one of the few Aldi stores without self-checkout lanes.nnThe staff quality has also gone downhill. During my last visit, I only purchased two items, yet the checkout process turned into a nightmare. The cashier made an error at the register and had no idea how to void or correct the transaction. Instead of resolving it, he asked me to make separate payments. Another staff member tried to assist, but he continued fumbling and even scanned the same item multiple times—turning what should have been a $22 purchase into a bill of over $80.nnWhat’s worse, this was not a trainee no trainee badge, but someone meant to be fully capable of doing the job. It raises serious questions about how this person passed their interview and whether the manager has completely lost control of staff training and hiring standards.nnThis experience was the final straw—I will not be returning to this store.

We do our regular shop here each week, buying only sundry items at the “supermarkets”. Doing this for over a decade. But lately, getting quite cheesed off that certain lines mineral water, salad dressings, and more remain out of stock for months on end. The trolleys are managed by a separate company and it seems ALDI is not imposing a good service standard on that company because they are more often than not sitting in the carpark, instead of in the shop; quite often full of junk, quite often broken. What is that company actually doing? Not happy having to fetch trolleys from the carpark week after week after week because the trolley company doesn’t turn up until midday.
