Visited with friends on Saturday but what a joke. Firstly the waiter could not speak English thus could not understand what we wanted off the menu. The drinks we ordered off the menus that did not have. I got up to help her find beer in their fridge. My friends ordered lemon lime and butter of the drink menù and got lemon aid which we sent back. After our fried ice cream ( which they only had 3 of) The lady at the counter, came over to our table, put on her jumper and said, we closing now. We all looked up amazed. We got up and paid she then told my husband that next time we should arrive earlier. This was at 8.30/9.00pm. I will never set foot in that place again so don’t even bother to go there. Very bad service and professionalism. 😡

Both the service and the food here were a horrible disappointment. We were uncertain about how/where to order so we asked the cashiers working the front counter (where the pre-made food is) and they directed us to the back where we were greeted with a couple of workers playing on their phones and oblivious to our presence. It was pretty empty so we decided to grab one of the bigger, round tables as it was the most spacious and it was ideal since we had the stroller with our baby. This table happened to be next to one of the workers, who was playing on her phone, she glanced at us and just moved to a different table farther away. Now, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was on her lunch break. Another worker was sitting near the back counter, facing the wall, with his earphones in - this is generally how I spend my lunch breaks so he was more than likely on his break. Someone who looked like the chef walked out and looked over at us and went back inside the kitchen. My dad got hungry so he went and ordered a plate of pre-made stir-fried noodles from the front, and once again asked them how we go about ordering yum cha - they just palmed him off, were quite abrupt, and pointed to the back area where we were already sitting. We had been sitting around for well over 20 minutes at this point and it was getting frustrating - we just wanted to be served. Eventually, a girl working the front counter was sent over to us. She was lovely and seemed apologetic that we had to wait around. And so began a long and tedious wait for our food to arrive. I'm not sure how long we actually waited for, but I'm pretty sure it was much longer than one should be waiting for yum cha food. Our food eventually came, with probably only 20-30 minutes left before we had to go home to make up a bottle for our baby. This was incredibly frustrating because we had planned to pop into the surrounding shops after we ate, but the whole ordeal of trying get someone to acknowledge our presence so we could order food had taken up all of our time. Now, the food itself was not appetising at all. The wait wasn't even worth it. In hindsight, we should have just left within the first 5 minutes when all the workers were ignoring us and/being abrupt when we were trying to get their attention to order food. Everything tasted like it had been in a freezer for 100 years. The steamed prawn dumpling skin/pastry was tough and tasted stale, like it had been sitting out for weeks and reheated 5 times. The deep fried pork dumplings, prawn rice noodle rolls, and deep fried battered squid tentacles were tolerable, but again, tasted like it had been stuck in a freezer for a century. The deep fried pork beancurd skin rolls were one of the greatest disappointments I've encountered in my life so far. For one, they weren't deep fried, they were steamed and soggy (even though it explicitly said on the menu that it was meant to be deep fried), it tasted, and looked, like a mother bird had, prior to being wrapped in the soggy beancurd skin, eaten the filling and regurgitated it. Not to mention the stir-fried noodles my dad had ordered earlier having next to no vegetables through it, if we didn't know better, we'd have thought there was a global crisis in the form of vegetable shortages. Also, none of the steamed food were in bamboo steamers, they came out in metal steamers shaped like the traditional bamboo ones! Every Asian knows that steamed yum cha dishes taste better when steamed in the bamboo steamer! This experience (both the service and food) really ruined my entire day. Would not recommend to my worst enemies.

I don't know what people are talking about in their reviews, I've been here a number of times and I've only had good experiences; generous portions, good food, came quickly. Much better than some reviews are saying.
