Established for over 30 years in Melbourne, Great Eastern Food Centre is a renowned name for “Good Quality & Diversified Asian Groceries”. We aim to provide the most up-to-date foods and daily products to Asian migrants, international students as well as to the local Australian community at reasonable prices.

Our History -

Founded in 1979 as a small grocery store with a limited range of products, Great Eastern Food Centre was later acquired in 1987 by a newly settled couple from Macau, China. Bringing in their unique and superb management skills, the new owners drove the business through an era of progressive change, leading to the robust and vivacious development of the business as it is today

In late 1980s, the influx of immigrants and students from Hong Kong, Taiwan and other South East Asian countries resulted in increased demand for greater diversity in Asian food products in Melbourne. Seeing this as remarkable business opportunity, Great Eastern Food Centre began to explore different channels for imported goods, endeavouring to meet the needs of the new clientele. Great Eastern Food Centre has since successfully developed close connections with a large panel of suppliers throughout Australia, enabling the supply of high quality Asian food products from different countries and districts.

With our profound connections and well-founded strength, we have become one of the biggest and most well-developed Asian supermarkets in Melbourne as well as in Australia. The products we sell are manufactured locally in Australia, as well as being imported from Asian locations such as China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, etc. Choice of products have also been expanded from hundreds to thousands, offering a one-stop shop experience for esteemed customers from all walks of life. In addition, we also supply food and daily products to Asian stores and residents located in regional districts and other states.

「運時」創立於1979年，創立初期只是一間位於Swanston Street的小型雜貨店，售賣的產品非常有限。1987年，來自澳門的邵氏夫婦正式接管「運時」，憑著獨到的管理及營運模式，「運時」得以穩健發展，生意漸上軌道。到了80年代後期，隨著亞洲掀起新一輪移民潮，大批來自香港、台灣，以及東南亞各地的新移民及留學生陸續移居墨爾本，這批新增人口不但為本地亞洲食品雜貨業帶來新客源，客戶不同的需求亦驅使產品趨向多元化，為「運時」帶來新的發展機遇。

為了滿足顧客的需求，「運時」通過各種渠道尋找不同的食品供應商，從東南亞以至亞洲各地搜羅了一系列優質品牌美食，產品之多，堪稱傲視同儕。多年以來，「運時」已奠定良好穩固的供貨網絡，廣闊的貨源，令「運時」贏得「產品齊全多元、價格公道合理」的口碑，良好信譽加上別具觸角的營運方針，助「運時」成為各色著名品牌食品的特賣場地，絕對是消費者的精明購物之選。
