Here at Taksim we deliver authentic and contemporary Turkish food from delicious Meze platters to chargrilled skewered meat dishes.

Story

Our name comes from the famous Taksim district which is situated in Istanbul, Turkey. Taksim is a major tourist and leisure district famed for its restaurants, shops, and hotels. It is considered the heart of Istanbul and is also the location of the Monument of the Republic of Turkey. Taksim is also a favourite location for public events such as parades, New Year celebrations, or other social gatherings.

Turkey sits at the crossroads of three different worlds, Anatolia, Asia and Europe. Our menu reflects this diversity from the very traditional to the contemporary from village dishes to dishes influenced by the Ottoman kitchens of the past.

You will find an authentic taste of Turkey right here in Auckland at Taksim from mezze to chargrilled meats.

We have a large space and can seat up to 200 people making our place the perfect location for group bookings. There is plenty of free parking both behind our restaurant and on street parking.

We are also fully licensed with a bar menu as well. So if you're looking to dine in or just come in for a drink and snack we can cater for you.

Amazing pizzas here and beautiful cold Tiger on tap. The customer service, everyone there is so friendly and there is loads of car parking, great night out for us as a couple and the young family that joined us.  James Ashwin

Hit & miss. The skewered meat dish was great, but everything else was bland, average, or tasted weird or stale. For the price they charge a main, you'd expect better. The prawn salad was salad mix leaves bag you'd get from the supermarket - the carrot and cabbage slices were old and stale. And the dressing tasted like from a supermarket bottle too. There was nothing original or fresh. The avocado dip in the pide + dip tasted off.

Delish food, service was fast and staff were nice. Great platters to share loaded with lots of tasty bits. Recommend trying the lamb dish. So good.Food: 5/5

This restaurant is known to us and we had expected to enjoy a dinner on 31st October. We were a party of 3. One of us enjoyed her meal. Two of us made the mistake of ordering the Salmon main dish. It was dry and hopelessly overcooked....thoroughly unpleasant. I am disappointed.

I was there for dinner with a friend and we had a great time. The place was quiet inside and I was impressed with the quality of the food and the presentation, the service was impeccable. We ordered Otoman's Borek which was a big slice with multiple layers, and it came with hummus and salad, tzatziki, tabbouleh etc. Absolutely delicious. Couldn't fit any dessert but the sharing plate I saw on the table near us looked amazing. I'll be back with my family. Highly recommended especially if you like authentic Turkish food!

Thoroughly enjoyed Nicola,'s early 50th Birthday dinner with Auck family plus a surprise visitor from Kapiti last night. Fab food and staff will definitely be back here again

I really like eggplant one. Tasty. Also beer is reasonable price, and has early bird prices.

Very warm service, food very good, outstanding .They doing rice very good, I believe if a restaurant treat rice/bread seriously that restaurant must be good restaurant.
