Great Japanese restaurant. They are authentic Japanese. Not a lot of space inside and usually very busy during dinner time. Have to make a booking or wait about 40mins. Delicious food and large portion size for some dishes. Can be a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and tasty food. Customer service could improve. The young lady who served used wasn't friendly.

This place was ok. It is authentic Japanese food but for me, it didn’t quite hit the spot. That said the portions are fairly large. Pricing is around mid range. Staff were friendly are tentative. I come here once a week. You get so much value out of amount you pay for. Sure, you can find better japanese restaurant if you are willing to pay more but I find it incredible how they can serve food at that price. I love this place.
Compared with any Japanese restaurant in Surry Hills, Suzuya beats them all as you get your money's worth. It's not overpriced, the serving size is substantial, the dishes are tasty, and the vibe of the whole restaurant is just chill - not pretentious like other fancy restaurants in the neighbourhood. Highly recommend this place to any of my friends. Don't expect any fancy presentation and pompous marketing trickery- this restaurant serves you good food without burning your wallet. Dining tip: For dinner, always make a reservation- as they get swamped with new and loyal customers. As for what to order, I highly suggest going with their dinner course. Experience Suzuya, that's all I can say.
I've come to Suzuya many times over the last five years and it has remained a consistently solid restaurant. Suzuya is run by Japanese staff, so you can rest assured that the food is authentic and high quality. The prices are affordable. I highly recommend their set menu where you can choose a selection of dishes. It's a well rounded meal and you will definitely leave very full. Service is friendly and efficient. Wait times for food are never too long. If you're coming for dinner, I suggest booking ahead as it gets quite busy, which goes to show how popular this restaurant is.
Lunch on Tuesday’s - Fridays are made better at Suzuya. For $20.90 you will get a feed that will give you a food coma. My favourite is the chicken katsu + sashimi lunch menu set. It is just amazing value and is delicious. You *MUST* try the lunch set menu for yourself.
The food is heaven! Is amazing. The attention is 5 stars, they are very polite and nice. Did I say the food is amazingly delicious? Well it is.
Local casual dining for families and friends, that always delivers fresh, fast and fabulous value food. Sashimi salad, agedashi tofu and platters of sushi are my favourite here. The beer and wine selection is good too.
Fantastic food and fantastic value. The portions are great here and the meal only costed $21.90. I got the combination with sushi and pork katsu which also included rice, miso soup and agedashi tofu. The sushi was made very nicely, fresh and was subtle in flavour. The pork katsu came out steaming and was crispy and extremely juicy. On its side contained a cabbage salad which was refreshing and had a good acidic dressing. The soup, rice and tofu were great compliments to the meal. Food came out quick and the service was prompt and professional. Would definitely come back again.
