Great stadium to watch sports. Downside, close to no seating besides the 1 stand.nMy sister and I went to support the Black Ferns vs Wallaroos on a very cool, wet night.nThe stadium turned away anyone carrying umbrellas and sold no ponchos.nWe, like many others ended up stashing umbrellas in the bushes to avoid having to walk 10-15mins back to the car.
I recently played the Oztag QLD Senior State Cup at Sunshine Coast Stadium, and it was a fantastic venue for the tournament. I'd easily give it 4.5 stars.nThe absolute standout was the quality of the playing surface. We had a fair bit of wet weather during the cup, but the fields held up incredibly well. Usually, with that much foot traffic and rain, the grounds turn into a slippery mud pit, but the drainage and turf maintenance here were top-notch. It meant the quality of the games didn't have to drop despite the conditions.nOverall, it's a brilliant facility and perfectly set up for large-scale sporting events.
We just love this sports open park precinct by the lake. Walking the dogs on leash is easy, opposite the stadium. There is a footpath which meaners alongside the lake and a few under cover spots to sit and relax. Beautiful greenery and plenty of parking. There is drinking water and toilets too. The aqua centre is next to the stadium and there is also a skate park offering shade.nThe stadium is undercover and massive lights for night time events. Well done Sunshine Coast Council.
Sunday afternoon Brisbane Roar Vs Newcastle Jets game. Great view from Section 2. Lots of food to choose from. Great facilities. Most enjoyable afternoon at the A League. Wish we had Sunshine Coast Stadium in Brisbane.
The stadium was great and the grassed slopes were nice and easy to get up and down!nThe lights are good! Fireworks was great!nWhen a big game is over they do not let anyone from the 3 grassed areas out onto Sportsmans parade through any of the gates at the front! 10,000 people and we had to squeeze out of a 4 metre opening, it was scary!nOH&S would’ve had a field day! There should have more exits!
