Had some decent specials. Store has been laid out differently from when I was last there.... over a year ago so looked great. However, dusting is clearly not something that is done regularly. So many things I saw and picked up were covered in a thick layer of dust. That was also the problem last time I'd been in. Need to work on keeping displays and shelves clean and dust free.
The older staff who've been around before the reno are just awful to deal with. Extremely rude and unhelpful. I returned a wooden ruler once because it was warped out of shape and got told it was a ruler for measuring, not drawing straight lines I got my money back but I had to deal with attitude. But the new staff have been extremely friendly and knowledgeable, bless them for having to deal with their coworkers.
I was very impressed by the service I received from Rebecca in soft furnishings this evening. She was extremely helpful to me and took the time to show me a wide range of curtains. Helpful service and going the extra mile is what makes customers return, keep up the fabulous job you do Rebecca. I love the curtains you helped me choose thank you for offering to order others in for me but I think I made the right choice with your excellent help.
Spotlight Dunedin somehow manages to have a large selection of things, without ever quite having what I need, or go there to buy. The isles in the craft section are not numbered and when I asked staff where to find an item, they pointed in a general direction where I had already looked, and were quite busy with non customer related tasks. Polite but brisk and dismissive. Not knowledgeable enough to recommend a vendor for specialist needles.
Full on great stuff of course, but you can get the same craft stuff at the $2 shop and save a lot. But if you want quality, then they do have that.
Happy suprise my stitching supplies were 40% off and I got 55 seikins, cloth, and a paw patrol dining set for just under $100. New projects for the year
Loved lay out of new store and such helpful staff. Must have good supervisors as all the assistants very smiling.
Very unfriendly, staff in the curtain/ blinds department. Offer no help whatsoever regarding Measurements. Only say has to be in resell condition within 28 days to return it. And you have to cut blinds to size if they're not suitable. They couldn't be less interested! In their customers!!
There are a lot of handicraft products, a variety of cloth, daily necessities, preferential prices, excellent service!
After moving from the UK stores such as Spotlight have been essential in buying items for the house. The staff were really helpful and saved a lot of money by enrolling me in the store VIP club.
