I’m a bonsai enthusiast and I know a good bonsai when I see one. The massive bonsais in this shop have innate beauty simply from their sheer size and age. However, most other bonsais are poorly shaped. One needs an artistic hand to make beautiful bonsais. For what you get, their bonsais are overpriced, even at closing down “sale”. Prices are not displayed and made up on the spot. “We water the plants twice daily and tags get wet” is not a good excuse for not posting the price. I have bought some bonsais from the shop but I had to wire and trim them over the years to make them presentable. Yes, the lady is very friendly so I hate to leave an average review but these google reviews help people a lot and I have to be honest.
First question my husband was asked “ what do you do for a job?” When she found out all the prices were immediately more expensive and 100% made up on the spot. Lady was lovely and knew a bit about her plants. We were chased down while trying to leave we were being offered a plant for $100 less then what she made up originally. This place is also closing down thank god.
Good collection of Bonsai trees in a beautiful nursery. The lady looking after the place is friendly and helpful. However, as confirmed by other reviewers it does seem like the prices are too high and there are no price tags on any of the plants. They also have a good collection of garden ornaments, Chinese feng shui showpieces and pots. Do not settle for the price they come up with, a bit of haggling is fine.
Happy with initial purchase, however lifetime service option is very misleading. Daughter bought Bonsia, took back for free service, plant taken returned couple of minutes later in different pot and my daughter was charged $40.00 for so called free service. Lack of transparancy and free service looks like it might be a gimmick to get you to spend more money. Also told plant nearly dead, absolute rubbish plant was thriving which is why my daughter took it to get shaped!
Love my bonsai, but I was told on the spot that it was $69.95. I continued looking, and went back to choose the original, and later found that I had been charged $89.95. Part was paid in cash at the request of the lady who served me, so I can't request a refund. Really disappointed that the transaction wasn't handled honestly.
I have had my bonsai tree for 14 years now, it was bought at Spirit of Bonsai. I brought it back a few times for a trim and it was fine. Today I went to pick it up and they had BUTCHERED It and said the tree was almost dead not true and that's how it looks after a trim not true bla bla bla. I am NOT happy. Like many other comments above, the owners, especially the lady, are dishonest and make up the price on the spot, as nothing there has a price on it. DON'T GO THERE, save your hard worked money for another place.
About 4 months ago i bought bonsai and what called “approved” fertiliser from this shop. Followed the instructions on care plan and my Bonsai is now dead two weeks after i used the fertiliser. I went back to them to explain what happened and showed them the Bonsai, and all they did balme the environment. Be careful with shop, they are good with making up lies and excuses
Good selection od bonsai but no prices, pushy & many with wire digging in deeply. Lady kept making excuses even tho I told her that I had been doing bonsai for almost 20yrs. Go elsewhere!!!
Nice nursery with some nice plants but very expensive. My "free" maintenance service on the plant cost me $100 even though they kept my original pot and decorations and put the plant in a slightly bigger pot with no decorations at all. Plant was put in too shallow.
DO NOT GO THERE I bought and used recommended fertiliser form this place Within 10 days of using the fertiliser, my Bonsai died.I went back to shop all i got was excuses, lies and blaming the environment my bonsai was at the time. I have had the bonsai for over 4 years why environment never was an issue!!
