Fantastic range and quality choice of so much. Extra bonus having cafe and shop. I’ll be back next week for more pots!
Attended today with the intention of catching up with a friend in the Cafe and browsing. Dissapointingly the Blackwood store does not have a Cafe which is a little misleading seeing as its mentioned in the reviews and the social media posts do not state that there is only a Cafe at the Oakbank store.
Amazing indoor plant range, a plant collectors heaven! Staff are so lovely and sweet. I got a few reduced plants that need reviving and would recommended looking in that section if you're an experienced plant parent. Their pots are absolutely beautiful. I would absolutely go there again, i really enjoyed my experience and they have fuelled my plant addiction lmao.
I used to love this shop to browse and find a gift for people. Having lived interstate for years, I haven't shopped here for a long time, but I went today to purchase a plant for a donation for a kids Easter raffle. There was one very lovely and friendly woman out the back, but I can't say the same for the level of service at the counter. I see there are other negative comments here about people overhearing snarky comments. Having customers stand there to hear snarky comments and laughter between staff about having to wrap a plant that is under $20 is absolutely appalling. Grow up, have some respect and realise you job is in customer service. Sorry will no longer support your store to be treated like that.
Good vibe and amazing selection of indoor pots but the indoor plants looked sad and variety wasn't that much better than a Bunnings.
Thought I'd take a look at Karkoo Blackwood today as a friend told me they have a good range of succulents. I would not pay $9 for succulents that look almost dead and etoliated. Sorry, I won't be back.
Gorgeous location, beautifully set up, food was delicious, however the customer service we received from two staff members in different areas was a little disappointing. I felt like we were completely inconveniencing one of them by waiting quietly at the counter to be served and being ignored and the unfortunate snarky comment from another employee at the nursery counter that I actually heard let the place down.
The range here is good but I'm fed up with taking a plant to the counter then being told it's more expensive that the price sticker says. Often by a substantial amount. They recycle the pots which is good but need to realise that legally they have to sell the item at the marked price - so they need to make sure the correct price is actually on the item. The staff are always defensive when this happens. It takes up so much time with them running around the nursery to find prices that they would be ahead if they just checked everything
Karkoo is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, with a stunning array of plants and quirky treasures. I am disappointed in the customer service however, being a local and having them lose my lay-bys and then sell something I had on hold for under 24hrs. They then offered to get another item in stock for me, and I didn’t hear back. I visited again, low and behold there is my item on the floor, but no call from Karkoo. The sales assistant casually told me not to lay by it, as they have a habit of accidentally selling peoples lay-bys and holds. Karkoo, if you are aware of this issue - please address it and not joke about it. They have given me a random mobile number twice at Blackwood to call Oakbank, and left me on hold for 22 minutes when if I finally called the right number. they never returned. As a regular customer, this is all very frustrating. Some staff have been apologetic, others have tried to fob me off and suggest it’s acceptable. The only thing holding Karkoo back is their organisation and customer service. I feel with a little care and attention to detail, this place would be an absolute pleasure to visit. If you want antique treasures, trees, statues, birdbaths, homewares, clothing, a cute cafe to enjoy the atmosphere, indoor and outdoor plants,furniture and gorgeous flower arrangements and gifts: this is your destination. I just wish the unpleasant aftertaste of poor service was a thing of the past. All the best Karkoo.
This place has great vibes. Huge selection of plants, pots and vast array of gift ideas. Love having this as our local plant store. Very friendly staff, especially Beatrice who always greets us with a big smile.
