I was here yesterday 9 MAY 2026 getting off a train from North Melbourne Station to meet up with a friend who's staying at a hotel just across the street from Southern Cross. I'm a yearly visitor to Melbourne and I'm from Singapore. And I'm always awed by the size of this train station and how busy it is - and also by the many interesting stores at the station. I also managed to take a top-down view of the station as I was having lunch on the 25th floor of the Hyatt Centric see photo herein.
During city tour we started our travel through train by craigieburn to city at end of southern cross train station and then cam back through flinders street station. Why we choose train because there is parking issues during week days as we have to spend whole day in city by seeing different sites of city by walk through so we cant handle our self car to park. So it was a great great experience to seeing the city from different angles
First time there for twenty years but found it easy to navigate even on crutches. Signage was easy to read. Staff were helpful and plenty of food options.
Signage was very clear and customer service people were very polite and helpful. I find it easy to use public transport in Melbourne because of the apps they can provide.nThere was a practice emergency alarm when I was there but everyone else was calmly moving around so I felt safe.nI love the luggage storage lockers. Great idea for when you are travelling in or out of Melbourne.
Great station, awful quality of amenities.nnThe toilet is a prime example of how poorly or well run and respected a station is.nnThis one was literally a shambles.
