It was a hot day (41°C), so TT Lines pushed back the boarding and sailing for the comfort of the passengers boarding. Very good traffic control, no stress when driving on board. While waiting in the very orderly queue, the traffic wardens came around to pass us cold bottles of water to make the wait the little more comfortable. Checking in was a breeze! Customer service officer had the boarding passes and keycards all ready for us. Clean and spacious cabins. Smooth sailing and a gentle wake up call with ample time to get ready for arrival. Just 1 simple wish... can the pantry stock more fresh food? The selection was quite small.

Great experience. Not really that big a boat actually. Night sailing recommended but it does mean an awfully early wake up. Even though it's quite a big boat if you happen upon rough seas the voyage can be unpleasant. My advice is to take your see sickness pills and get an early night!

Our crossing to Devonport and back from Melbourne exceeded our expectations. The Ferry is spacious, super comfortable, and the food was better than we would have ever expected. We booked a deluxe queen cabin and could not have been more comfortable. The bed was possibly the best on our two weeks away and the shower was brilliant. Bathrobes and toiletries were a welcome extra touch. Couldn't rate our experience more highly.

We booked the red hot fares and got a great deal! Our day voyage was manageable without a cabin, but we knew we wanted one for the night time. Unfortunately they were all sold out when we bought the tickets, and so we asked to be put on the waiting list. Best decision ever! Our cabin was small, but it had a very large window and an en suite. After dropping off our carry on suitcases in the cabin (there's only room under the beds!) we headed for dinner at the Tasmanian Market Kitchen. It's self serve for $24.99 a plate and the food was fantastic! No over cooked vegetables here! I would definitely recommend a trip over to Tassie on the Spirit. The staff are absolute legends, working so hard and they always have a smile on their faces! Shout out to the Chef that gave me the best piece of roast lamb! The only difficulty experienced was the terrible weather in the night trip from Devonport to Melbourne. Even though the beds were comfortable, it was really hard to sleep with the rough waves and lightening. Perhaps I would recommend making the night journey from Melbourne to Devonport, when you can fall asleep while still in the calmer waters of Port Phillip Bay, and then making a return day journey from Devonport to Melbourne.

Lengthy and started 10 minutes early and arrive over an hour late. Super slow. No need to buy a cabin, plenty of seats. Just plain boring really, not much to do, food is shite and the customer service even worse. Flying is the better option of the two by far.
