A stylish interior and spacious outdoor areas with stunning views of Oneroa bay, Solar is the perfect spot any time of the day. Great range & deliciousness of cabinet food. Excellent coffee. Prompt and friendly service. Reasonable outside seating, plenty inside. Toilets clean. You can buy their own brand sauces & chutneys.

Quick friendly service, food selection limited but it was Easter Sunday so this may have been a factor. Nice clean surroundings and great view.

Q: Creamy mushrooms on toast - Can I get the mushrooms in coconut cream? 
A: No.  They're already made up.
Q: Vege Benedict - Can you do the mushrooms on the grill instead of being in cream?
A: No they're already made up.

By this point I think it's pretty obvious that I'm dairy free.  So I got scrambled eggs on toast instead.  After a 30min wait I finally got my scrambled eggs on toast which had diary on the toast and in the scrambled eggs (which makes no sense at all) and it wasn't even toasted.  I think I was charged $12-$14 for what was scrambled eggs on untoasted Molenberg.

Now I don't expect to have my every whim catered for and I understand it gets busy fast and most food is pre-made but when I see other customers creamy mushrooms on toast was actually whole mushrooms dipped in cream I don't see how you cannot just not dip it in cream and throw it on the grill or in a fry pan.  I know there are lots of idiots who buy into every new food fad thats out there.  Dairy free isn't a fad.  It's allergy related.  The staff weren't helpful and when I end up with scrambled eggs on untoasted cheap bread and no table service for that cost I was really disappointed.

It's a popular spot with travellers and locals alike. Their version of 'the kiwi big breakfast' delicious although the menu is slightly on the pricey side. Nice views from either the front or back decks and a funky almost nautical vibe inside.
