Story

For over 100 years Sibuns Funeral Directors & Advisors have built a reputation for offering excellent service and genuine, caring assistance to the families of Auckland.

"Sibuns was established in Wellington in 1899 and moved to Auckland in 1913. From 1996, Sibuns moved into the old established funeral home, WH Tongue. Respecting tradition and lives and stories that have gone before, yet recognising that over time funerals have changed and evolved. What families want and expect has changed too. Let us help you to create a special farewell to honour your loved one's life. Serving all of Auckland we are located in in a gracious old house which is a local landmark in the heart of Remuera."

This little story deserves 5 stars! It is not every day that a stranger helps out in a time of need, goes above and beyond and expects nothing in return! Big shout out to Alan Pound from Sibuns! My mother passed away in July in Germany this year and I was unable to travel to be with her or for her memorial service. The funeral director in Germany arranged for her ashes to be sent to NZ. When they arrived here, NZ Post informed me that they were unable to deliver the parcel to me from Auckland to Christchurch. It was an anxious time for me to find an alternative to get them send that last little bit of their long journey. When asked, Alan offered immediately his help. I was able to get the ashes delivered to Sibuns.  I was very touched when Alan informed me that he repackaged the parcel because he found the packaging had suffered. And then he send it on to me. Just like that! Thank you!

Sibuns has been so amazing during our time of need. We met Catherine Jagger who took care of us during this grieving process and let me just say we cannot thank you enough. You have been so understanding, so empathetic, warm, and professional the whole way through till the end. If you are looking for people who will understand and cater to your specific needs, our family highly recommend Sibuns Funeral Directors & Advisors. Thank you for everything
