Story

Shu specialises in reinvented Sichuan cuisine. We are embedded in the centuries old Sichuan palate, but we present its incredible spices, heat, textures and flavor complexity so that it is accessible and exciting for today’s diners. Our produce is sustainable, seasonal and organic whenever possible and sourced from local suppliers, so our dishes vary every night. Shu sets each evening’s menu so that it is perfectly balanced in its range of dishes and flavours. We will introduce you to traditional favourites alongside Shu’s more inventive dishes – you decide how hungry you are and we will feed you.

Wow. Where can I begin, what an absolute journey into another dimension! After the second or third dish, we had to check that we did not in fact drop a tab of acid prior to arrival - this still yet to be proven, however if we were of an altered state it was not of our own volition. Like Tom Hanks in the Da Vinci code, we did reach a potentially religion altering conclusion; Shu are the masters the anti-food movement. With delights including beansprouts in an ice cream cone and an $8 bottle of sparkling water being topped up with tap water (for what I can only assume is part of the overall experience) to a magical price increase at the point of purchase...I think that in fact this was not valentines day, but April fools. For that, I thank Shu for their ability to transcend time, space and flavour simultaneously.

What an amazing restaurant! I was so impressed by the vegan degustation. Taste and presentation was perfect and fun! I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food and casual, funny vibe

Too much happening with it's hotch potch interior along with the gimmicky science lab beakers for glasses. An industrial aesthetic which looked a little cheap. Food was reasonable nothing popped out or was memorable . A little too pricey. Can't see myself going back .
