Punjabi Curry Cafe

My local curry place. The curry is always warming and wonderful. The rogan josh is particularly yummy, but my neighbor always has the butter chicken. The place is also quite warm and has a TV of a fire for the customers edification. They cater for people with low hotness palates as well.

Been coming to or taking away food from this restaurant for nearly 20 years. I must say that it has the best Tandoori food and breads I have found in Melbourne but recent visits have been a bit disappointing from the service point of view. Wait staff appear uninterested and bored and don't really appear to be happy in their job which does affect the overall experience. What particularly disappointed me recently was the refusal of the restaurant to split our bills when we booked a large group.I know it's a risk for restaurants letting people pay separately but on the other hand it's not really realistic to expect people to bring large amounts of cash with them in 2018 when people are increasingly reliant on cards and electronic transactions. There has to be a happy medium. Prices seem to have risen a fair bit too which again is possibly justifiable as business expenses rise but for the prices charged, the standard of service and general attitude of staff should be commensurate. it's coasting along at the moment but needs to ensure it does not drop the ball and go the way of so many other restaurants in Colliingwood.

Came here for dinner on a Monday night and overall our experience was quite good, though nothing amazing. It was very quiet (we were very early for dinner) yet service was quite slow, and our mains took a long time to get to us. The staff were very lovely and attentive. We ordered a chicken and lamb curry. Our dishes were alright, though the food was quite bland. Food was quite filling, and portions were good.

Sorry guys but I got the tandoori chicken Tikka plate and after eating it felt sick, next thing you know I woke in the middle of the night with cold sweats and spewed 4 times. Also the pricing does not match the quality or taste. Lucky we had 50% off from eat club and still thought it was expensive.

I had goat curry with garlic naan. Cooked to perfection not over or under, however I realised if quantity would've been a bit more, would be nice.
