This place always gets the good bands, possibly the only venue that touring bands play locally. Which is unfortunate as the sound upstairs isn't the best and can totally ruin the gig.  The bar staff are generally friendly, I found it to be hit and miss with security...not literally!
I'd recommend having a few beers beforehand as the selection isn't very varied.

A very local pub. Can get ruff. Can have really good bands. Busy on the weekends
