Story

House Rules

We’re a passionate lot here at Scitech - we love talking about science and sharing information about Scitech, our interactive science centre in Perth, as well as our activities around this vast state of Western Australia.

Our aim is to create a community inspired by and engaged in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). We welcome your questions and comments and encourage you to share your photos, links and experiences of Scitech.

In order to make this an enjoyable experience for all, we ask that you follow our House Rules.

• Be nice – we’re a friendly bunch, we’d like to keep it that way
• Keep it clean – if you wouldn’t show it to your mother, don’t share it with us
• Be respectful – remember that we’re all different

This space was created for you to share, learn and enjoy – please use it that way.

Scitech. A safe, weatherproof escape.nnPlenty to entertain young children, although the shows usually rotate only with school or public holidays. So can be samey after a while.nnThe indoor cafe pricing is 20 percent over usual cafe prices. $2.60 for a babycino! So makes no sense to feed your family here. Or to get your coffee fix.
Great experience for young kids. It's a great way to start the learning of how/why things work. Lots of fun activities to do with a rotating attraction which was astronauts this visit.nnParking is easy and if you are attending scitech you can pay at the pay stations inside which is $5 instead of $20 for everyone else.nnThe biggest down side is that there is no option for food and drinks other than the vending machine, which is a disappointment as a coffee offer would do really well.
Great spot to entertain the kids for a few hours, interesting for the adults as well.nRelatively well priced for the amount of entertainment you get, parking is also cheap if going to Scitech.nThe staff were great, I went on the last day of the school holidays so it was very busy but everything was running smoothly.nFood was very limited, so it's best to eat before or after you go.nA great experience overall, 4.5 Stars.
Went to the After Dark event. Scitech, while fun, has lost some of its muster.nnThe interactive exhibits remain the same as the ones created years ago with little change and I'm surprised how little scientific explanations are given to any of the equipment. The show Myth Hunters especially gives little to no explanation on the science of what they show.nnBest parts remain to be the planetarium so long as you don't have technical difficulties like we did and the new exhibits though I would like to see some more in-depth explainations.nnSuited for very young kids but wouldn't recommend if you've been before as an adult.
Great experience for children. However, more efforts on science exhibitions for innovative interactive displays would be advantageous. Some of the exhibits require changing to new concepts, a refresh needed, and more support from staffing very much required. It's upgrade time
