It was a good restaurant before but the quality now is really concerning. Today I went for dine in to this place and the water bottle I got full of fungus and I was literally vomitted after I drank some : While I went to the washroom I had a glimpse inside the kitchen, seriously, It was terrible inside, it wasn't higenic at all. If you are a person who really consider quality and higenic food, please don't go near to this restaurant. As we had a really bad experience today, I won't come here anymore. I really don't want to spoil my stomach! Their closing time is 10pm, in a different occasion I was there around 9.27pm but they informed me they are already closed!
We enjoyed buffet lunch today which was great. Good choice, tasty, freshly made & well presented. Coffee & tea were a little small & not hot enough but that's only a slight criticism. Unlimited dosa was a big bonus. Would recommend this buffet.
Fantastic service and food from the team at Saffron. They provided us with on-site catering services for an event and Saffron did not disappoint. From start to finish of planning our event, Val ensured that everything ran smoothly and our catering needs were met. I strongly recommend using Saffron for your events!
Hygiene a concern. The place is untidy, marks on the doors and glass window and dark inside. Just had lunch with friends today and it was a disappointment. The furniture is old. The entrance is so tired looking and untidy. Not sure if the feedback will make any difference to the owners. it seems there is no pride in keeping the appearance attractive. Not going to the restaurant again. We are leaving in NZ and not in a third world country.
They wouldn’t give an extra small bowl as we mistakenly put a curry in the bowl instead of the soup. They charged $1.90 extra to pay by card. Their staff showed us what each food was by hovering their hands directly over the food - that’s unhygienic.
Reluctantly giving a low rating. Drove all the way from west Auckland to find the thing I was craving for and many others are not available due to staff shortages. Totally understand but was very disappointed with the level of cleanliness in the restaurant. The medu wada was served piping hot and was fantastic but the sambhar was burnt. May be they will improve later on will definitely give them the benefit of the doubt.
Rude staff and poor customer service. I went there for takeaway. The order was late and there was not much response from the staff side. I was patiently sitting at one corner and more than half of the seats were empty. The lady staff who were standing at the counter told me to move out and stand near the counter in a louder tone in front of everyone in the restaurant and I felt insulted. Staff should learn the basic things of customer service.
I ordered fish curry via Uber : Saffron did not give rice with the curry : after waiting for so long : I was delivered by a very unprofessional driver in a flimsy plastic bag my curry without rice : upon ringing Saffron they advised that rice is only given as a complimentary and therefore no rice : I have ordered previously so many times and it was delivered with rice. What a joke when the order list doesn’t advise that it won’t come with rice : just imagine . How can a restaurant go this bankrupt that for total $24 incl of Uber charges we get only curry :hopeless : no disclosure at the time or ordering : the curry was tasteless : I hope the restaurant closes : past experience : sometimes when you order via Uber they pick up your order and then after 19 minutes they advise that they cannot fulfil the order: disappointing : please I hope everyone is aware of how poor this restaurant is if you can’t afford close your restaurant but don’t half feed people . May your restaurant close soon
Saturday and Sunday breakfast buffet -Vegetarian! Unlimited food and one tea/coffee for $12.99!!! It’s a real treat for this price. Dosa and vada is really nice. Sambar is so so‍but you can have 3 chutneys and potato masala to compensate! Value for your money!
Good tasty quality food. Service is really good. Affordable price. One of the best in the area for good Indian food. Well maintained place. The washroom should be cleaned better. Perfect otherwise.
