Situated about a 30 minute walk from the city centre. 10 minute walk to Elizabeth Street restaurant hub. 30 minute walk to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Clean spacious room in this old but newly renovated hotel. Ample car parking. Only issue was that our room did not have air conditioning but did have a fan, a bit stuffy on hot days. Jenna the receptionist was a credit to Rydges.

Big room poor facilities. No where to put clothes--- no draws 3 hangers. Bathroom big no containers to place toothbrush etc. One tiny rubbish bin. Microwave no dishes spoons etc. No table. Paid money to live out of 2 suit cases. Walking distance to town 30 mins. We didn't realise we had to carry our suitcases up stairs no lifts we are in our 80's. Have stayed in better backpacker's there rooms at least have places to hang your clothes etc

I originally chose to stay in this hotel because of its beautiful historic buildings and they did not disappoint. The rooms are newly renovated and the large king bed was comfy. Rooms 1-8 are on the main road so there is a fair bit of road noise but not enough to keep you awake at night. Our room was fairly dirty and looked like the towels may not have been changed from the people that stayed previously. The mugs/cups/spoons were dusty with marks on them.

Totally beautiful, huge and renovated room. Lovely staff. May be worth bringing your own forks if you're gonna eat in your room! :)
