Went to RDH Emergencies for my 3 yo daughter. Being a foreigner in holidays in Australia, the receptionist was really nice and took time to explain the insurance coverage and the procedures. ER doctor was very professional, double checking everything, and the nurse was so sweet to my kid ! Thank you to the whole team. As a nurse myself in my country, I was feeling secured at all times.
Had an ultrasound done yesterday for my pregnancy and she was pushing hard with the machine I’m left with not being able to walk today because it hurts so much and also have photos of the bruises Also used the toilet in the same room as soon as I went in she was bringing up the child that we previously lost not long ago to my partner totally what he wanted to hear But when I brought it up to her after her pressing hard She said Yes we already know all about that!! Feel free to give me a call hospitable!!
In my experience, the nurse was very nice and doctor was very thorough in his diagnosis. Front staff weren't so nice but I imagine they have to go through hell and back with the characters attending emergency. While it wasn't a positive situation for me, I had a positive experience at Royal Darwin Hospital.
If you want anything done be difficult. If your on a wait list ring once a week and scream down the phone. They dont care how they get rid of you as long as you go. If your difficult they will treat you to get rid of you quickly. If not they wear you down till you give up and go away untreated.
Terrible services at the emergency. Was sent back home with my child just because the receptionist the lady was too lazy to do her job. She said she didn’t understand my insurance and couldn’t call to confirm what emergency service coverage I had. The nurse said she had nothing to do with payments and couldn’t proceed. When I told her never had this experience in NSW she told me different state has different rules!! They expressed no empathy and was very dismissive.
My husband was rushed into the ED on Friday afternoon in an ambulance after a chemical burn at work, he had 2 nights on a ward and surgery, all the staff that were involved in his care were amazing, thank you,.
As an employee of RDH I have never required it's services as a hospital as such until recently when I unfortunately broke my ankle! I can say from the get go the staff on all occasions have been amazing and services provided exceptional. I do not have anything thankfully to compare to, however I have no complaints and I am grateful for the friendly, comforting and professional staff I encountered from surgeons to cleaners to nurses and admin staff. A new found respect for what all staff have to put up with in an unbelievably busy hospital! I am eternally grateful, some of the other patients around me I would happily give a stern talking to regarding their lack of appreciation :-
i will never forget about my beautiful experience with RDH delivery suite and the maternity word! each and every nurse and midwife are truly amazing and very professional! when i went there with my labour, they took care of my toddler and allowed my husband to be with me! the time we reached at 6th floor, i felt like, everyone was ready for me, everything was organised! i cannot thank enough to the midwifes, nurses and doctors!
All I got to say is that I've been to RDH for 3 nights and 2 days and throughout my times there all the nurses were super friendly and very caring towards everyone. They have an amazing passion while doing their jobs. I had to go through Emergency Department and being ineligible for medicare the receptionist was so helpful and patient with me for filling up everything and later on they helped me to call my insurance and everything as I was in alot of pain. The doctor who was looking after me in ED talked and reassured me his colleagues will look after me before he finish his shift such a good guy he was. Its also nice how they do their handover and introduced you with the next shift nurses who will look after you. Before my surgery the nurses was very reassuring and the doctor came and explained everything correctly before proceeding and try to calm me down as it was my first doing in hospital. Seen how those doctors dealt with the patients and the amount of time they spend to explained everything is really amazing and time consuming so please if EVER you have your operation being reschedule just remember how these doctors are doing an amazing job in reassuring patients. Massive respect to all the staffs in RDH. Real heroes
I understand people have different experiences but mine was nothing but positive....they saved my life and am forever in their debt. The staff have bent over backwards to make sure I was comfortable and my pain was managed properly. To all those staff...you have my respect and admiration for what is a very hard job. I hope you all get to see this small bit of appreciation you ALL deserve.
