Rosie

Story

Nestled in suburban Parnell across from the famous Rose Gardens, Rosie is a quintessential local, suburban eatery.

An open kitchen with a burning chargrill at its heart allows head chef Mike de Vries to craft vibrant, balanced, hyper-seasonal menus with character.

The space offers a relaxed atmosphere while diners are treated to unpretentious and friendly service.

Locally sourced seasonal food that brings the freshness into each dish. Always looking forward for the changes of season that will bring in a new menu to feast on. Excellent service and coffee as well.

Deliciously non-standard menu, with all dishes made to perfection. A beautiful spot for an early morning brekkie. The coffee is great too.

Always good food and service. Midweek is better in terms of busyness. Coffee is Allpress so it's always on point. Regular changes in the menu are always welcome.

Bland and textureless coffee. Food is good and can be worth the price if you pick the right things on the menu. My impression of the staff suffered as they somehow managed to forget my takeaway order despite numerous people who ordered after me were served.

Stopped by for lunch since we were aiming for their deconstructed hot chocolates. We were greeted at the door and led to our table. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the menu sounded. It was one of those menus where you wanted to try at least two or three things. I decided to go with the short rib. The rib just fell off the bone and was tender and juicy. The sauce and fig chutney gave it textural and flavour nuances to make the meal very enjoyable. The portions were quite good. Prices are a bit over the $20 mark per plate. Good food and service so would recommend it.
