RED PETITE (South Melbourne)

We're super small in size but very BIG in heart. We want nothing more than to fill you up! We offer good coffee, and tasty food at very affordable prices.

Come visit us for a quick sandwich at lunch, or authentic Bangkok Tapas (Khaw Tom Kui) at dinner time. We're bringing authentic Bangkok street food to Melbourne. Khaw Tom Kui is light, and delicious and goes very well with drinks. Bangkok Tapas is like rice gruel, and is complimented by 3-4 small side dishes. As with most Thai food, it's healthy and fresh. We cater to all diets, with vegetarian gluten-free options available upon request.

We are different to most ordinary Thai food restaurants in Melbourne. Come experience something straight from the streets of Bangkok, something you won't find anywhere else in the city.

Simple, tasty Thai food. Very good pad Thai, good green and massaman curries although they were a bit on the thin side. The best I've found in the area. Will return for sure.
Really tasty Thai, great flavors and the staff are very friendly. For the price it’s 5 stars although son law eggs not as good as Gingerboy for example. Anyway we loved the red curry and roti tonight. Also crying tiger flavor was great but beef a little tough but ok for some pieces. Definitely coming back.

I would be 5 stars if Prawn Chilli & Basil Sauce has only prawn, chilli, and basil. It would be okay if half of the plate is basil, but it must not be any other veg.
We‘ve been there for many times and I think Red Petite is one of the best thai food in Mel. Although the shop is tiny, it taste so good. The chicken satay and crispy pork belly are recommended, the sauce of the satay chicken is good and the chicken are so tender and juicy. Definitely will going back.
Really fresh, well made Thai food at an affordable price. Staff were attentive and friendly. Covid safe with sign in and hand sanitizer.
Very tasty. Rich flavour of Coconut. Red duck curry even has pineapple, lychee inside. The portion of Roti is quite small, but the sauce with Roti is quite good too
The food was exceptional! Especially the pad see ew and red chicken curry!!! And the staff were so friendly and accomodating!! Have already recommended this place to my friends!!!
The appetizers were better than mains. The pork belly comes in a gravy that is very yum and the satay was on point. However the pad Thai did not have that nice peanut hit nor was it flavoured right. The service was slow as well which was surprising considering it was Tuesday night and they we're at half capacity.
