Wasn't aware of how loud the motorway could be at night.  Trains regularly traveled by. Trucks, trains = no sleep...
Although facilities are dated, they are clean, and the showers had amazing pressure. 
Good playarea for kids, enjoyed the pool on hot days. But hard if your kids are a little older, as 10pm total shut down. They couldn't even play spotight away from all campers.

Most terrible place I have ever stayed at in my life. Staff were so rude and abusive.

Nice place. Quiet this time of year. Cold  in the rooms but that's the same for all NZ motel lodge in June / July. Heaters and electric blankets certainly helped. Stayed just 1 night. Played the mini golf to waste an hour. Local pub a 5-10 minute walk away. Great steaks.
