Amazing place with great short walks for families. Plenty of options for young children as well. Waterfall walk is a great choice, especially when the weather is warm. There is also a really great playground. Really popular in summer, especially during camping season. Be aware that it is a private park so there is a charge at the gate.

Our family had a wonderful day here. There is plenty of space to picnic and young children can play on the playground which includes a pirate ship, 2 flying foxes,  sand area, boulders to climb and large spacious areas to play ball games or throw a frisby. The cafe and historic sheds, waterwheel, blacksmith shop and farm machinery are interesting to see and read about. The scenic views add to the beauty of the place. The staff were super nice, chatty, and very friendly. A lovely place to visit on a summer day and well worth the price of $10 per carload.

Great place to visit! A number of good walks ranging from half an hour to 5 hours. Gardens, a cafe, camping facilities, adventure playground. Very scenic and well worth the small entrance fee

Their conservation of nature and cool areas, was awesome. Definitely a great local place to come and a tastey Cafe with lots of vegan options. Friendly management (Ian) made it feel like good old kiwi Land. Highly recommend.

You must go here. Whether for the day to enjoy some wonderful day hikes or (even better) for a night in the park under star-filled skies...

It's $5 for the day. Well worth it and oodles of tramping/hiking paths.

If you want to camp here, ignore the sign near the main road (should you see it) that indicates  your campervan must be self-contained; there are toilets, dishwashing sinks, and even (quite rustic) cold water shower facilities.

You simply cannot beat NZ$12 for a powered campsite (or NZ$10 for an unpowered one!!) under the stars. When I was there I only had three quite far away camping neighbors and dead silence through the night. Will definitely visit again!
