Nice little area with a cafe and ice cream parlor. Great place to bring the kids as there is a sheltered beach and paddling pool. Behind the cafe is a grassed area for picnics or reading a book. There is plenty of bike stands and also a solar powered charging station for mobile devices.

When the tide is down you can walk along the long Sandy Beach and sometimes see the mountains all the way to the Kiakoura's.

Love it in autumn and spring. Not so great when really hot in summer as there's very little shade around the paddling pool and none over playground. The play equipment is very old school and could use refreshing but it's got the basics so we enjoy mucking about. There's a cafe with icecream right beside it and public toilets :) might be good when the kids are a preschool age I suspect.

Beautiful beach located very near Christchurch. High quality cafe located at the end of the beach. You can ride your bike on the beach at low tide.

Great place to visit. Has it all. The beach. Cafe,park and splash pool. Fantastic walks over the hills. Picnic area.
