Super acoustic. We enjoyed Mozart's Jupiter Symphony no.41
Thoroughly enjoyed Orpheus production. Many thanks also to the very kind employee who assisted me with my wheelie walker. Another really good opera production this afternoon. Staff here are so thoughtful
Great theater and great complex. Clean and great acoustics. A musician's dream!
The entrance to the loading dock of the Queensland Conservatorium also the rear access to the Southbank Piazza is a jewel in the crown of urban street design along the roundly lauded section of Grey Street inbetween Russell Street and Little Stanley Street. I often practise my frantic leg stretches and vocal warmups here for hours on end when wandering into this part of Brisbane City. The resident technicians always seem to enjoy my performances with polite nods and far-away stares.
This is the best music school in Queensland. Both the teacher and the students are great. Their performance is very exciting. There are many Steinway & son pianos in the classroom, and the music theatre has a 9-foot Steinway & son piano. this is very good!
Absolutely not recommended for younger kids!!! The piano teacher was very selfish and instead of focusing on teaching our son, she insisted that we call her “DOCTOR “ which is ridicules in Australia and not common at all!!! She definitely didn’t know how to work with younger children!!!Instead of making the lessons more attractive for kids, she made the lessons a nightmare for our son which caused him to become uncomfortable and cry! We reported this to their office and requested change of teacher or ceasing lessons and they didn’t care about the teacher behaviour and ceased his lessons without any explanation about the teacher behaviour!
Great concert. Good venue. Helpful staff.
TLDR: amazing and affordable performances, concert hall disability access available upon request. Been here a number of times to watch both students and teachers perform and all have been well worth it. The performances are high quality, high energy, and lots of variety from musicals to symphonies. We mostly see the symphony orchestra - the ticket prices are lower compared to the QSO, so if you have always wanted to see a symphony but are on a budget, I would highly recommend. In fact, I would still recommend even if you do have the budget. Wheelchair access is available if you call to book; however you will have to be taken the 'scenic way' to you seat as you pass by the performers and their locker room so be prepared to get a peak behind the literal curtain. As for the actual school - dunno, never went, seems legit based on student performances.
I am not a purist musical tragic so was amazed at what's on offer for those that are. Went to watch the daughter of friends playing her clarinet for her end of training assessment. Such amazing talents are nurtured in this fabulous facility. If music is the food of life, play on.
I enjoyed the school children concert. Wonderful sound and great conducting of a bid ensemble of young players.
