Providing not only quality teaching in many fields but also providing exceptional pathway programs for our high school students giving them a taste of what is out there. Shout out to Pasifika team for their amazing hosting of multiple high schools from the Brisbane region. A great day of learning with some inspiring stories.
I was asked by my employer to complete a post-graduate course to formalise my knowledge for admin purposes. Enrolment was straightforward, but everything after that was a disaster.nnThe lecturers are checked out. Some don’t even bother to teach and just recycle videos from the previous staff. When they do upload their own recordings, they read straight from the slides and act annoyed when students dare to ask questions on the forums. Most assessments are group projects, which is a complete joke. During my first semester my assigned teammates dropped out, I wasn’t told, I wasn’t reassigned, nothing. I only discovered it myself and had to chase the lecturer for help. Both times I was ignored until I went through the help centre.nnFeedback is equally useless. Vague throwaway comments like “why did you do this here, this doesn’t make sense” with no explanation, no guidance, and no chance to improve. With lecturers unresponsive and unavailable, there is no teaching, no learning, and no support.nnI did finish the course, but it was absolutely not worth the $5,000 price tag. I’ve studied at three universities and QUT is without question the worst of them.
Absolutely appalling experience at QUT Brisbane has been nothing short of a nightmare for our family. They had the audacity to slam us with a $2,000 late fee for being just 16 hours late on a payment — an outrageous and predatory penalty that no decent institution should ever consider.nnOn top of that, for weeks my son has been unable to submit his work because of constant failures and incompetence from staff. Every email we send is either ignored or bounced around, with nobody taking responsibility. Emails are apparently the only way to reach someone in charge, yet no one is willing to actually help.nnThe refusal to re-enrol him despite these ongoing problems shows a complete lack of care for students and their futures. It feels like we’re dealing with a system that punishes families financially while offering zero support in return.nnSending our son to another state to study here is hands down the worst decision we have ever made. Instead of being supported in his education, he’s been left stuck, stressed, and abandoned by a university that clearly does not value its students.
they have an awesome motorsports club where they build race cars every year. so so cool!!
Beautiful campus next to Brisbane River. Easily accessible by bus as well as ferry. There's a ferry terminal a short walk away next to QUT car park
