Story

BBC is located in Toowong in Brisbane's inner West, the College has been preparing young men for the challenges of life since 1902. Brisbane Boys' College provides a rigorous academic environment which allows every boy to aim to maximise his educational potential. The basis of our educational philosophy at Brisbane Boys' College is simple - a successful education does not teach students what to think, but how to think. If we are to prepare tomorrow's leaders, we must help them to develop flexibility of mind, strength of character, social skills and a sound belief system.

BBC is a member of the Great Public Schools (GPS) Association of Queensland and competes in sporting and cultural competitions against the member schools. The school is governed by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association.

Within the context of a caring College community, each student will be nurtured and educated to develop his God-given talents to the best of his ability through a balanced involvement in the academic, spiritual, sporting and cultural life of the College.

Richest school in Brisbane and they can’t afford a shade sail. Maybe instead of scamming parents by asking for donations start looting other people’s belongings / position yourself where money flows. References: the flow of river banks. #Ilootedyourlightbulbs
Our family had a negative experience and find that BBC is overrated. We took our 12 year old out after 1 miserable year and in our experience they do not cater for neurodivergent intelligent boys you must fit into their exact mold and they suggested that if he was struggling with homework every night after an entire day of school and sports then perhaps he needed higher meds. In our experience, there was too much homework and the revision was disorganised and always late.nnThere was also unbecoming behaviour from some of the boys on the playground dry humping, racist comments re ethnic differences and intolerance of differences.nnWe also experienced “stacking” where they put a high number of high needs boys into the same class which is not only outdated but unfair to all the boys. All the parents knew about it and talked about the “high needs class”, “sporty class” etc. Perhaps they also stack the parents as we are unsure why we didn’t make it into the sporty class as our son is a swimmer. I suspect it’s because they also stack parents ie put parents that will not complain in the high needs class. It’s surprising that private schools in QLD get away with this type of herding and educating boys in a manner that is old fashioned whilst not only being intolerant of differences on the playground but also in the classroom.
Amazing school! My brother attends this school and he is so happy there!nThere are so many programs whether it is senior school, middle school or senior school! The music department is so nice! And the sports department is so encouraging. BBC is a lovely and supportive school, has a lovely campus with very good students!
Drinking Fountains are a biohazardnnI have recently drank from a drinking fountain at BBC, and it has given me a stomach viruses, forcing excruciating diarrhea on my body, alongside with constant vomiting. Word says the students push dirt, sticks, twigs, bark and all other kind of matter into the drinking fountains, contaminating the water. This is absolutely unacceptable, I went through 6 days of this hell just because a few students thought it would be comedic to force contaminants into a drinking fountain.
Loved it nnVisited for Open Day, met the Head of Junior School - Mr Keith Dalleywater and many teachers and students.nnWe found the school amazing in terms infrastructure, level of enthusiasm in teachers and students, and over all positive vibes.nnLooking forward to be a part of this school next year
