Visited Proud Mary Coffee, recently ranked 27th among the World’s Best Coffee Shops 2026, and it absolutely lives up to the recognition.nnIt is popular and understandably very crowded, but the service remains exceptional throughout. The team is attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming despite the busy atmosphere. There is a wide variety of food and coffee to choose from, and everything we tried was excellent, especially the coffee, which truly stands out.nnThe merchandise on display also looks fantastic and adds to the overall experience. A well-deserved ranking and definitely worth a visit if you appreciate quality coffee.
Came here because it made the list of world top 100 cafés!nnOrdered a flat white and the potato hash with super thick bacon and a kale salad. The coffee was great, really aromatic, and the food was delicious. I especially loved the crispy hash brown, nice buttery flavor. The bacon was super thick and satisfying, though quite salty.nnThis is one of my favorite cafés in Melbourne. It’s a bit pricey, but the overall experience was great. Love the atmosphere too, very cozy and comfortable, perfect for reading a novel
I will always choose to eat at places that flirt with Masonic or occult symbolism like the all seeing eye employed by Proud Mary, and this one has the quiet confidence of a place that knows exactly what it is doing and has no intention of explaining it to you.nnThe place was busy which is usually a sign that something is either very right or very wrong and in this case it was gloriously right. Yes there was a wait, but instead of leaving you to contemplate your life choices in the rain they handed out umbrellas like a benevolent secret society. Service was excellent throughout, efficient without rushing, friendly without interrogation.nnI ordered the tamarind eggplant omelette on the basis that it was the least likely to assassinate my liver given my current negotiations with it. It turned out to be a very wise diplomatic move. Balanced, interesting, and just indulgent enough to remind you that restraint is a theory rather than a practice.nnThe coffee was excellent, which I say with some authority as I have been coming here since I was part of the starving army, and those who know will know.nnThe place itself is hip in that effortless way that suggests nobody tried and therefore everyone did. The sounds of the coffee machine and cutlery come together like a well rehearsed orchestra. Nothing jarring, everything in rhythm, a quiet kind of competence that is harder to achieve than it looks.nnA place with symbolism, substance, and just enough chaos to feel alive. I will be back, assuming my liver and I can reach a continued understanding.
Had an amazing café experience with delicious food, great coffee, and outstanding customer service! The mushroom toast was absolutely incredible, and the coffee was one of the best we’ve had.nnA special shoutout to Robert for his exceptional hospitality and friendly service , he truly made our visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a café with quality food, excellent coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit.nnHighly recommend and will definitely be coming back again!
The Mog Champ sends his regards.nnA lovely and well known Cafe for both your experienced and casual coffee enjoyers! Enjoyed a ghost rider on a piccolo myself along with a typical & bourbon honey long black. Don't usually grab two coffees myself in one go but decided to give that morning an extra kick!nnSat at the counter to see the baristas in action which was pretty cool seeing up close. Great friendly service and love the spacious and clean environment all around. Thanks for the morning Proud Mary.nnMogliest Regards,nYour Mog Champ
