If you are taking a vehicle to the Apple Isle....check it ain't the 1 day of the year the Queen Mary 2 is docked. Traffic backed all the way to South Melbourne, 2 hours from departure! STILL. The beach is clean, swimming is safe and not full of butts, dirty syringes and worse...like it once was. They have sectioned off a beach buffer zone and it's full of scrub which has successfully prevented erosion, so that beautiful old bluestone barrier is still doing its job, and there's a bike path as well as a walking track all the way along. It's quite upmarket nowadays. And the Queen Mary 2-That is some vessel - look at how it dwarfs the Spirit of Tasmania!

Its very very nice place to go for walks or just hang around. It would be nice to have tables and chairs for people have buy dinner and sit near the beach

Great place to walk / cycle / run along no matter what the weather is like. Good pathway with a lot of seating. Easy to get to using public transport, just need to sort out your start and end points if you do not want to back track. Good scenery with other attractions close by.

Great scenery on a sunny day 😜... is that creepy?...sorry... Better beaches out there, but for a quick dip in calm waters and still close to the city you can't go wrong...

Got there to catch Spirit of Tasmania on a Saturday morning around 6.30, the place was busy as people started getting off the ship 🛳, but the staff was very efficient and well trained in traffic 🚥 management and crowd handling. There are nice cafes and walking 🚶 and running 🏃 tracks in the area, not sure about the quality of the air though
