This was the only Café opened at late afternoon time on Christmas day in the Port Arthur area. Tried the Seafood Basket and Coffee and they were so good. The food was very fresh and had a delicious sauce. There is also a store for grocery and other items which someone would find very useful if staying around the area for a holiday. The cafe's ambience is pretty nice as well.
Absolutely wonderful food and great bottleshop attached. If only the convicts could have an Aussie burger or seafood platter like they serve here. Great chips... everything was great. Especially enjoyed the Moo Brews from the bottleshop. Also lots of useful tourist brochures.
The equivalent of a truck stop for food and the vibe of the place. Got a takeaway coffee and they spilt the shot around the outside of the cup. Bad coffee. Not many dietary requirements for the food. Needs a renovation.
Came here for lunch. The beef burger was delish. The meat patty was thick n juicy. The waffles was good too. The staff were friendly. Glad to hv dropped in n ate there.Food: 5/5
Fantastic meals both nights that we visited. Very tasty burgers and nice salmon. Reasonably priced and great service. We also got a couple of lunches. Visiting from Queensland and appreciated finding great food in the area. Parking: Great parking
Excellent service and excellent food! Highly recommended the salmon and chips and the seafood chowder packed with a lot of fresh seafood. The salad that comes with the fish is fresh and oh so yummy. Also, the milkshakes are very good.
Menu is basic, but the burgers were delicious and the chips thick, fluffy inside, crusty outside and genuinely scrumptious. Didn't take very long 15mins. Definitely a lot better than the place across the road.Food: 5/5
Don’t let the exterior deter you! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the inside was clean and comfortable, the food was served quickly and fresh. The chips were crunchy and the Coffee was strong Would definitely recommend - overall a really satisfying lunch.
We pulled up because our niece was hungry. Entered the cafe with 3 other adults and 4 children. I watched how everyone of us was stared by the lady at the counter. My spouse asked for the menu and she showed the board. But later decided to provide us with the printed menu. As we sat at the table, she shouted across the cafe and asked if we are paying together or separately, which I felt was rude. For once I wondered if she was going to pay for us instead. She spilled latte on the saucer when served. It's not our first time here. We have had good experiences with staff there but today was our ultimate worst service from the one lady at the counter. We have been living in Hobart for years and have been to many cafés in Tasmania. I totally applaud at this lady's bad service. I hope it was just her having a bad day and not from the heart because she was smiling and being friendly to other non-Asian guests. She definitely does not represent the beautiful faces of other cafés in Tasmania.
We pull up, tired and hungry after a massive hike up cape raoul. Starving and willing to pay anything we found the prices quite reasonable. Staff were friendly and gave good recommendations. The food came out and it still I was pretty happy. But look it did the job. Prices were ok and the taste was decent. But the burgers just lacked something. The soup was from a can and the vibe was a bit slack. If you need a feed go here but if you are looking for something like “wow we went here at port arthur” yeah nah not it. Maybe three stars is a little harsh. But it just didnt do it for me.
