Absolutely terrible experience, products in aisles are all over the place. Every aisle had products dumped in placed that shouldn’t have been there, no attention to detail, empty boxes everywhere, meat all over the place. The shelves looked dirty. I originally thought they must be very short staffed, however there were 4 staff that I noticed in the aisles, 2 were talking on their phones and another 2 were just standing around talking with a trolley blocking the aisle, while occasionally picking up an empty box. The worst Coles store I’ve seen in Australia. An absolute embarrassment to Coles and Hobart. We won’t be shopping at Coles while we’re here. As I’m writing this, I’m wondering if it’s even worth it, do these reviews get read by Management? Is there Management in this store, certainly didn’t look like it!
We have been travelling around Australia for 17 months and this store is the worst one we have been to. A lot of items on the shelves that shouldn’t be there, the variety of items are poor, the staff had no sence of urgency several were on their phones and it was clear they were speaking to their friends, the car park was small and difficult to manoeuvre in. We will be going to Woolies from now on.
Customer service was really poor. The man that was in the front service was very racist . He was talking to his own people those who are ahead of us but when he saw there was no smile and didn’t even put the items in the bag. It doesn’t cost you a penny to say hi to your customer or just to smile. You are in well educated country so stop judging people with her face or skin colour. Never had that experience before.
I was there for the deli section today and worst racism experience I’ve faced from the employee who worked the weekend shift ‘XAVIER’. I waited for 10 mints while he kept serving the customers who were there after me 4 people even after making eye contact and didn’t even acknowledge me. When I confronted and asked politely he said I’ll get to you soon! And even the customer he was serving acknowledged oh so sorry she was here before us but we thought she was waiting for something. And I asked for the supervisor, another employee showed up saying the manager will be here at 4pm only I’ll inform him as he has other complaints against this person. It’s a shame after 3 years I’ve been going to this store , one rotten employee - XAVIER was good enough to ruin the whole name of COLES! Shame on you for being RACIST!

I’ve observed that international customers are often met with rudeness, and staff fail to greet or acknowledge them properly. This behavior is disappointing and unprofessional.nnI hope this issue will be addressed to ensure a better customer experience for all.
