Big supermarket with everything you need. People here are friendly and parking easily available. I have to say garlic, onion and ginger prices are very expensive by Asian standards.
Two young guys unpacking boxes of meat.Big black tray of meat sitting in the vegetables. One sitting on the bread, a few chickens just sitting in the floor. I asked if any burgers almost what they were unpacking no there isn't was the reply. They didn't even look. They saw me looking at the chickens on the floor and they threw them in the meat cabinet like they were footballs. Never seen anything like it. Hope those meat juices didn't contaminate everything else. They were so rude and had meat all over the place. Disgusting.
Have just been into Coles Newtown in Hobart to do some shooping and to stock up on a few things. I had the pleasure of asking Luke from the fresh food department some questions about some products and may I say what an asset that man is to the Coles company. Nothing was to much for him to answer, give me direction and just made my shopping experience such a great one for a Sunday morning. Thank you Luke for coming to work today and making my day.
I’ve been very loyal Coles New Town customer for almost 14 years, however I’m disappointed doing my grocery shopping on 30 December morning as there were no service counter open and we’ve to go through express machines where attendant required to scan at least 11 times to endorse items for our 7 bags. We’ve decided to switch now to its competitor with dissatisfaction that they undermine customer service with more and more automated counters.
High prices. Fresh produce hit and miss for quality. Few staff on checkouts. The whole place has a profit over people vibe.
