Woolworths Hobart City isn’t the biggest Woolies in terms of range, but it had everything I needed. What really stood out was the friendly, personal service. I honestly can’t remember the last time I was served by a real person at a regular checkout — I’m so used to self-serve everywhere else! It was a really nice change to have that old school human interaction again. Staff were genuinely warm and helpful. I noticed when I went in, there was a selection of short dated refrigerated products that were really cheap.nWoolworths Hobart City is a great little store right in the heart of the city.
We are visitors from Melbourne, and technically there shouldn’t be any major cultural differences. However, during a simple cashier transaction, we were treated with what felt like cultural bias by one of the male staff members.nYou seemed unhappy that I placed the products on the counter in front of you and questioned how the transaction would work with everything there. I apologized, as I clearly wasn’t trained on how to handle things the “right” way in your store. But after saying thank you, I certainly didn’t expect to be met with such an unpleasant expression.nnWorking in retail means interacting with all kinds of customers. If that becomes difficult, it might be time to reconsider either the attitude toward customers or the job itself.
Typical woolworths cashing in.. almost $5 more expensive than Coles for cigarettes. Just like big tobacco, extortion on addiction.
It is convenient for a quick shop, but for a bigger range and variety, this is not the place. Parking spaces are limited.
Standard woolworths that interstate travellers will be familiar with.nBrown paper bags instead of the new plastic style.nPlenty of parking.
