"PokPok" was created to bring delicious new look of Thai street food & road side restaurants of Thailand to New Zealand.

Story

"PokPok" is a Thai term to describe the sound of a pestle gently thumping spices in a granite mortar - a common background noise in the street eateries of Thailand.

Our menu is constantly evolving like a culinary tour of Thailand, ranging from dishes influenced by the north, northeast, middle and south of Thailand.
Everyday, we strive to deliver authentic street food to our customers, using only the freshest, premium quality ingredients sourced locally.

Service was pretty average - we got water as we arrived, but no refills. We weren't asked if we wanted drinks and it was quite a while before we ended up asking to order as we were sick of waiting. The food came out at different times but was tasty, I think for the price the overall service could be a lot better. Also dislike that they charged for rice.

Nice food! Decent sizes. Service was average. We got braised beef brisket with green sauce which was yummy and highly recommend, we also got prawn pad Thai which was average have had better at other Thai restaurant.

The restaurant is located at a rather convenient spot in CBD. The service was friendly. The food, however, was a bit too sweet and not as spicy to qualify as genuine Thai cuisine. We ordered a large papaya salad, and the amount was even less than another Thai restaurant we frequent. The caramelized pork belly was great.

The food here is a great Thai fusion with some very unique dishes. The ambience is great and they have BYO!

Apart from the wait for the food this is a really excellent place. I will definitely go back again to try more dishes. Food is fresh, well presented and very very tasty.
