Platypus Factory Outlet in the heart of DFO South Wharf interior alone looks enticing from the entrance Walking in, you find a broad range of shoes available in various brands and colour spotted several cheerful customers during my visit so that can only mean it’s worth a look if you’re within the precinct
Came in on Boxing Day with such a packed store but was still met with such awesome staff that were able to help me out. Special shout-out to Dan who helped me as much as he could. As a person who works in retail, I couldn’t have imagined this calibre of service on such a busy, full-on day. Kudos team!
Worst service EVER i just asked a lady whether she can help me find a shoe size and she straight up said “can’t u find it urself?” this is the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend anyone to come here at all.
Great customer service. The guy who helped us buy a pair of Doc Martens was friendly, but also gave us space and was not pushy. Selected styles on sale, but I the prices were not that different from retail. We bought a pair of cherry Docs and paid the same as we would have in any other store. The four stars are for the customer service and range, not the discounts.
I was very frustrated by the staff there as she insisted me to give my email ID saying it’s needed for processing the refund but their refund policy doesn’t say that and for every other shop it’s optional but why is it mandatory for you???? this is clearly a case of my privacy violation.. I advise people not to give emailIDS as it’s purely for marketing etc…
would definitely recommend, juliano helps so much! i can never find the right shoe size but he managed to do it in no time, would definitely go back!
Nice shoe store. They’ve also got socks if you happen to need any of those. They’ve got a wide range and each aisle is crammed full of them. Since the aisles are a little too close together, it’s a bit cramped and hard for two people to get around each other when they’re trying to pass through.
The staff seem nice enough, but trying to get them to notice you let alone get them to help you seems futile. Maybe platypus could put some time and money into actually training the staff? Just a suggestion. I was predominantly ignored by all staff save one. I was going to buy two pairs of shoes, but when I asked questions about the shoes the staff member said he didn't know anything about the shoes. I asked him if any of the staff might know anything then he said " I don't know but you can ask them". I couldn't tell if he was a bit thick or just really lazy. Needless to say I won't spend my money there. One other staff member, a girl was very helpful though. She was clearly better trained at helping customers.
Friendly staff members, however a little understaffed store. Environment is small and walkways are tight especially during peak hours. Great specials and great variety of brands. Seats can be increased for the benefit amd convenience of customer load.
Platypus South Wharf DFO has some of the better prices for shoes compared to other stores. Their clearance racks often have good sales especially at the end of the year. Service has always been great, I would recommend having a look!
