A faultlessly prepared delicious meal. Problem deciding which dish. The fish and two veg dishes this time. The scallops are so very good. A number of visits required. A piece of house bread and butter a nice inclusion not often found. With the cheese some dried fruit, more paste, would be nice as the blue cheese is quite a strong one.
What a wonderful restaurant in rural South Australia should you bee down this way. We will definitely return when in PenolanFood was excellent and we were both very impressed with the presentation and quality.nEntree were the seared herb pork fillet and Braised beef Agnolotti both were full of flavour, especially so the agnolotti.nMains were the rack of lamb and eye fillet, both cooked medium rare and very tender.nWe had two of the sides the Kipfler potatoes and the roasted Cauliflower.nJust enough room for desert and we both went for the Rhubarb tart,nWine list was good with a nice selection of local wines by the bottle and by the glass.
Lovely dining experience. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Our only criticism would be that entree sizes could have been slightly larger. But other than that a really great experience.
This is such a little gem of a restaurant right in the heart of Penola and the Coonawarra wine area. Just walking into the building, you know it is going to be stylish. The food was excellent with many wine choices. The restaurant also had gluten free for my husband who is a coeliac. A perfect evening.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Steak came a bit underdone for medium rare - not an issue it was still delicious, but if you're picky, might be worth ordering a bump or two above your preferred done-ness
