Piedimonte's Supermarket & Liquor

Age old proven local Italian supermarket. It has an exceptional cheese collection and some seriously rare and unheard of variety. It specialises in Mediterranean items but I have found all sorts of interesting stuff. The local Fitzroy North crowd loves this shop. There is a bottle shop on the left and a stationery shop upstairs. The bread could be a lot better, especially the house bread Would love too see a wine collection at the lower end like that at the Mediterranean.

This IGAs is pretty good.. A little expensive with some products, but if you do go there, be sure to check out their deli and their bakery. They have THE BEST fresh cakes, pasties, pies, rolls, bread etc etc... They also do a great coffee upstairs. Definitely worth a visit!!

This review is specifically about the bottle shop. Despite the store having open fridges, I have to say the beers I purchased yesterday were some of the coldest of all time. You could see frost on the bottle, they were so refreshing. As someone who doesn’t enjoy lukewarm beers or just merely “chilled” beers that you have to neck before they get warm, I can’t praise your beer temperatures enough. Also a great illustrator called Ron selling fabulous drawings out the front of the store. Keep up the great work piedemontes.

Just now, 6th January 2023 15.20 I go to this place. Bought my favorite tiramisu as other people too. Go straight to the cashier with just the tiramisu. Same as the lady in front of me, She only bought Tiramisu. The lady has been served properly with this registration's staff. OLD LADY, CASHIER 5 But when its time to my turn to pay, she was being very rude, she ask, "is this yours?"pointing to my tiramisu and "just that?". Not even said thank you. No greetings, Not even offer a copy of receipt. Just because i'm asian and you treat me different mam? I pay my tiramisu, not stealing it. And i deserve a good service same as other people. I'm Not even ask an excellent customer service, just a good one. HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Great selection of cheeses and a really well stocked deli. Fruit and veg is always good quality too.

Large, good supermarket. Fine selection as well as cheaper options. Produce is always good quality and fresh. Charming old building. Fun to go to.

Convenient but your garlic will pretty often be mouldy when you buy it. Brilliant if you’re keen on only using the non mouldy half!

the manager?/one of the employees was staring me and my friends the moment we walked in. we were literally just shopping and then my friend went to take her bereal and the same lady shouted at us to “stop snapchating” very aggressively. we literally were not in the way or anything or attracting that much attention, we were literally just taking a photo. so we moved to a different aisle to cause less of a disturbance and she FOLLOWED us through the store and told us off again, not giving us a reason why she was kicking us out AND not letting us finish our shopping. she just said, “get out now, or”. thats literally it. so we left. then obviously we went back in bc we werent done with our shopping and the moment we walked back in, every single employee was staring us down the whole time we were there. and she was following us again. NEVER shopping there again, employees are rude and didnt trust us for taking a photo??

head of cashiers?dyed blonde hair, old aggressively shouted “this is not a photoshoot” to my friends and i as we were taking our BeReal. we apologised and moved to a different aisle that had no one in it, she followed us and proceeded to yell at us to “stop snap chatting” and then told us “you can either get out now or” she created a scene and told the other workers that we were “snap chatting” as we paid and left. we reentered the store to buy icecream and immediately all the workers were staring us down making us feel uncomfortable. we walked into aisle 2 for icecream and immediately there were loudspeaker announcements saying to “keep an eye on aisle 2”. the cashiers eyes widened when she saw us as we were paying. this is unnacceptable treatment and i know this is probably not the first time something like this has happened. the workers here need to chill out and be humbled.
