Rain recently during winter season! We tried the simplest Vietnamese food as our brunch. I can’t tolerate too spicy food. It drove me crazy as I squeezed lemon and put half teaspoons of the chilli sauce in my rice noodle soup. It’s really spicy! And thanks God, this is the reason why Vietnamese milk coffee is so sweet and addictive, it soothed my tongue’s palate! It would be great if Vietnamese donut were warmly served. I’m going to try their beef rice noodle soup in my next visit! See you next time!
I love Vietnamese cuisine and wanted to give this place a try. It was a weekend, and the place was jam packed. Although I got a seat, I wanted to enjoy my bowl of 'Beef stewed with red wine sauce pho' @ $17.00 in a comfortable setting so I asked them to pack it for takeaway. The whole QR code ordering thing still doesn't sit well with me. Anyway, the staff were extremely busy with the orders and clean-up so I waited outside. They weren't rude, just extremely busy while trying to be professional. One of the staff delivered the food to me outside where I was waiting. As for the food itself, it was simply delicious. Good quantity, and the infusion of red wine into the beef was so good that I could taste it in every bite. Well balanced flavour with savoury soup and good chunks of meat, I'll definitely revisit this place hoping for fewer people or have it delivered.
Delicious and traditional Pho Noodle soup from northern Vietnam. Service was fast and prices were affordable. Portion size was average but the broth is perhaps one of the best I have ever tasted. I normally prefer the more beefier stock commonly used in Pho recipes from Southern Vietnam, but this one has definitely impressed me.
We came here twice during our two-week stay at Melbourne. Nothing is more comforting than a hot bowl of pho in Melbourne’s winter. 5 star for the pho but 1 star for the service. I think while the staff did try, the service flow/ management needs a lot of improvement. The first visit was around 7pm. We used the QR code on the table to order and got the confirmation on the browser. After waiting for 30mins, we checked with the waiter and then he said those were not working and we had to order via the counter though the waiter didn’t say anything when he seated us and it said scan to order on the table. After we ordered via the counter, they missed one bowl of pho again. We thought it was just still cooking but had to remind them after another 10mins wait. Because the red wine pho had been sold out during our first visit, we thought we would give it a second try. We visited again around 2pm to avoid the lunch crowd. We were told by the waiter to wait outside as there wasn’t any table available inside, but there were several outside seating available. Soon we realised customers who came later just seated themselves, so we had to find seats on our own. Then we went straight to the counter to order this time. While I was about to order, the lady at the counter told me to wait for 10mins. She left the Kiosk and went around to each table to take orders / confirming orders. I then realised the wait was all caused by their messy ordering system. During my 10 mins wait, I also saw they literally put the ordering slip printed out by the kiosk on top of the pho and only removed the slip while they were about to serve. After waiting with a long queue of customers, the lady came back to take my order. We paid at the counter and got a number, just like what we thought how the ordering process was. Again, we have seen 3 different types of ordering process during our two visits. It’s still very confusing to us on what to do next time. If there is a next…we should probably visit Springvale instead. Food wise it tasted very good, though I think the broth was high in sodium they claimed no msg. I got very thirsty afterwards.
Pho Thin is one of the few northern style pho places in Australia! The broth is tasty and comes with plenty of condiments. Definitely recommend ordering some fried doughnuts if they are available. The service is quick and prices are reasonable, great place for a casual meal.Recommended dishesStir Fries Up Rare Beef Pho, Mix Pho, Vietnamese Donut
Pho is absolutely delicious. The shop gives the vibe of being in Vietnam. Loves all condiments that's on the table especially the garlic pickle. Wish there are some entree dishes such as some authentic fried Vietnamese street food.
a short 10 min wait before getting seated. They have like 5 options for their pho menu. the option 1 stir fry up rare beef is quite unique. the “vietnamese” donut are just the same as the “chinese” donut. But a lot shorter though, reasonably priced at $2 each, best to eat it while it’s hot. The $6 addons was average and overpriced IMO, same as the $8 coconut juice. The staff didn’t rush you to return the table which is a big plus.
We ordered the brisket pho and ice tea. The pho itself was good, pretty average, nothing special or unique. Service was okay, and the food came pretty quickly. When we ordered the iced tea we got literally just normal tea you make with a tea bag except it was cold. The portions were big and fulfilling. Pretty average place, good however wouldn’t come again.
Authentic pho and their soup were delicious. We didn't have a booking so had to wait about 10 mins in queue, which we glad they were still able to accept walk in when other restaurants nearby were turning us away for not having a reservation. Ordering was done through the phone which was a breeze, and food was served quickly. Service was good and overall a positive experience.
Delicious Pho! The ordering system via the QR code wasnt the best and the staff seemed to be a bit disengaged but overall the food was delicious. If you’re looking for affordable authentic Vietnamese pho you need to visit!
