Good Evening, First of I’d like to start by saying Perth clinic doesn’t even deserve one star, Perhaps minus 5 would be more fitting. Secondly I was told I was too high risk to be considered for the clinic due to my suicide attempt. As a mental health hospital you should be excepting of all patients. Or maybe you too under qualified to deal with serious illness and would prefer people that take less time and effort. Secondly I was extremely over medicated. On the maximum dosage of olanzapine. Which lead to many side effects. Such as having a 30kg weight gain in less than 4 weeks that left me highly sedated for months and after trying to discuss coming off them my requested were ignored. Seems as though it’s a habitat to sedate you patients rather than dealing with the real issue here. It’s saddens me to read your reviews and see that many patients have had the same experience. Seems as though you need to make some extreme changes to your system and how you medicate patients. Perhaps it’s all for the money not the love or passion of caring for the vulnerable at our worst times. Kind regards, Abbey Cant
READ!!! At first looking for somewhere was overwhelming. With so many negative reviews across all mental health treatment hospitals over Perth it made it hard to know what would be the right place. Deciding to go Perth clinic with this being my first admission I walked into the unknown and I am grateful I chose this place. The group therapy did me so many wonders with having attended Purple Group and the DBT Primer I gained the skills I desperately needed over the 3 weeks I was in. As a patient , it is very important that you need to be open to the groups and it is definitely ‘ what you put in it is what you will get out of it’. I advise as hard as it is to keep your mind open and just give things a go even if you don’t like them. The rooms are lovely and clean. The nursing staff are beyond lovely and also making sure you are ok and your needs are met. My Dr Babangita was amazing and didn’t dismiss anything I said, I felt heard and he was very understanding and got to know me as a person, where my mental health was and uncovered so many things whilst keeping in touch with my supporters. The food here was great and there’s lots of lovely cafe’s near by and kings park to get out and walk around to. pending you have unescorted leave . You are allowed escorted leave which was nice to be able to leave with family and friends to get fresh air. The visiting hours worked great and it’s lovely that family or friends can accompany you at dinner time. Overall my experience here at Perth clinic was great, I feel like a new person and look forward to returning to the world outside feeling happiness that I didn’t have when I was admitted. Mental health is not a quick fix or simply fixed by medication. If you put in the work you will find the benefits from this great place.
My dr just starts you on medication when you tell them you don’t want it where I prefer only therapy. I trusted him and my mood dropped drastically. It took me weeks to get myself back on my feet as it took me lot of hard work. You tell the dr that’s how you normally are but I guess they not used to me being hyper and happy with myself and accepting of myself. Therapy class was great tho. You learn lots, people are nice, food is great, staff some are nice. Great place overall where you don’t have to think about food and planning what to do during the day time as there are many activities to do.
Our experience at Perth Clinic has been amazing. Wasn’t sure what to expect when we first arrived due to the reviews but I can honestly say, I would 100% recommend you. Thank you all so much for your help
This place gets a bad wrap. Some of the staff aren't meant for mental health work or aren't meant for particular responsibilities. There are some very minor points such as wasting food larger portions for me personally, amazing food 8/10. But overall this place has helped me every time I've been 5 admissions and have been attending outpatient groups for more than a year, also completed TMS here. HOWEVER, PC won't be the treatment for some people, there are a lot of factors that contriute to this, just know it isn't guaranteed to help as much as you wish. Another point to note, is that a lot of the staff are wonderful people not all, they make my days here wayyyy better
I see Dr stella Fabrikant, there was so many reviews i saw that made me worry but honestly shes amazing. Just goes to show you really have to go to get your own experience. Shes professional which for some may come across as unsympathetic but you can tell she cares about her clients including me, she will call outside hours if you have an urgent question and will keep talking to you without dismissing you as soon as you hit 'overtime'. she runs late sometimes but that's due to paying attention to her clients. she will question things and make you think and that for me is important. people are too quick to judge and forget humans need to build relationships/understand how someone interacts and its important I think to keep an open mind. Im very happy with both her as my psychiatrist and the reception ladies who are productive and helpful always ensuring my queries are attended to :
Just called today to renew my regular medication prescription. The receptionist was just rude, unprofessional and impatient. So i called to figure out if I need to book an appointment to get my regular prescription renewal. She just puts me on hold immediately for 20 mins without even listening to what I had to say. I called a second time and the receptionist immediately put me on hold for another 20mins I called a third time and was asked to email them with my query and just hung up on my face again while I was still talking ‍
This place is nothing short of a legit Joke, should be called Perth Drop Kick Nurses, there is 0 professionalism and the staff have no respect for anyone, the manager is a young lady no older than 30 with 0 knowledge on how to even approach a mnetal health patient let alone run a facility built on "helping mental healrh patients" I have had to go to the extent of contacting the minister of Mental Health and will be having this clinic assessed as a 'mental health clinic' as they dont accept people who struggle and those they do accept are doped up on insane amounts of medications, the Phychiatrists have 0 care for any of their patients and the nurses are scared of a pen dropping on the floor. Most pathetic excuse for a Private mental health facility i have ever had to deal with. I hope this place gets shut down because i cant imagine the amount of people who leave here wanting to end their lives because of the poor and disgusting way people are treated here, this place being shut down would be a blessing to Perth
Perth Clinic allows their nursing staff to violate a patient’s confidentiality and privacy. A particular nurse was caught sending photos of patient files and progress notes but he’s still employed here! Please reconsider going elsewhere because it’s obviously only about the money and NOT about the patients. Shame on you management.
You pay $500 for admission. The format of treatment of this place is as follows: Monday-Friday Breakfast from 07:30-8:20 sharp then you’re expected to attend mandatory groups from 9am-12:30pm then often attend more “optional” groups from 13:30-15:30… The DBT and CBT groups are complex and have a university feel to them. Saturday and Sunday is relapse prevention group where you get another booklet you have to work through. You do not get social supports here. You get your treating consultant who visits you for a brief check in but typically no actual treatment plan is established or discussed. There is no treating multidisciplinary team, meaning no OT, no physio, no social worker & no welfare officer. Nurses will avoid having to engage with patients if possible. When you express concerns or issues, and they say they’ll follow it up… make sure you get ready to follow it up because it seemed to never get followed up or handed over properly. Make sure you ask for your PRN medication when you need it, the nursing staff won’t offer it you! This is not an appropriate place to go if you’re in the “acute/crisis” stage… Perth clinic is only appropriate for people who are at the “functional gain” stage of mental health. Long story short, the group classes is the only format of therapy offered here, there is no other treatment available.
